Winners - Charity Raffle - Bulova Accutron II and Bulova ‘Military’ UHF both BNIB!

This thread has run its course, but there is a second raffle to support two more of the charities that helped us, here: http://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.ph...Harrison-books

Thanks again to everyone who took part, your contributions really make a difference.

    Matthew

Many of you are aware that our youngest daughter, Laura, spent much of 2016 undergoing treatment for kidney cancer. For those with access to the Bear Pit, there is more information about Laura’s journey and the fantastic support that we received, here: http://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.ph...rsonal-Message

Laura’s treatment finished this week, her latest scans are clear, and now it is time for us to give something back to the charities and hospitals that gave us immense practical and psychological support. First up are two brand new Bulova UHF watches being raffled for CLIC Sargent and Alder Hey Children's Charity. I’ve run this by Eddie and have received his backing.

To take part, please post in this thread and voluntarily donate a suggested £5 per entry to Laura’s fundraising page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fund...?pageUrl=Laura

Feel free to take part multiple times and if you are not interested in the prizes, you are welcome to donate anyway!

Please include your TZ-UK user name in the comments if it's not obvious.

I’ll maintain a list of the participants here and will let this run for 10 days to maximise the fundraising potential. Laura will personally draw the winner and runner-up on 21 January.

I will cover postage, to anywhere in the world.

    The Prizes:

    Winner
Bulova Accutron II Men's UHF Quartz Watch with Black Dial Analogue Display and Silver Stainless Steel Bracelet 96B208
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bulova-Accu...SAP548KHVD19GJ

**** WatchGecko 20mm orange stitch rallye strap added to the first prize, see Post #49 ***

    Runner-Up
Bulova Military Men's UHF Quartz Watch with Black Dial Analogue Display and Green Canvas Strap 96B229
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bulova-Mili...SAP548KHVD19GJ

Both of these highly regarded watches were purchased in an Amazon sale in September 2016 with the intention of raffling them for charity when Laura’s treatment was complete. They are both brand new and have not been worn. The Snorkel is still sealed in cellophane; I only removed the sticker from the Military to take the photograph. The seconds hands are sweeping nicely.

To be clear, once won the new owner can do exactly as they wish with the prize. I'm quite happy for them to sell immediately at the going rate on SC if it's not their cuppa. If either watch remains unclaimed after a month I will re-run the draw.

    Thanks, Matthew

Happy to donate, and I am glad your daughter is doing well.
As someone who has seen family members battling cancer several times (including currently) I am only happy to help the fight against an awful disease.
(No need to enter me in to the raffle)

    £5 added.

It was wonderful to read that Laura's final scan was clear. You may recall that I'm one of the other parents going through a similar journey with my son. The photo of Laura "ringing the bell" filled me with hope and joy for Laura. We hope to be doing the same next year when Nathan's 3.5 years of treatment ends.

I wish you, Laura and the rest of the family a happy and healthy future.

Great news that her treatment is finished. I remember that feeling very well from my own Chemo & Radio a few years back.

The 4 YO daughter of very close friends of our family is currently undergoing chemo for leukaemia so I know how hard this can be on little ones and their parents. Clic Sargent have been brilliant for their family too so I'm more than happy to donate here.

I hope you get a response rate worthy of the cause from the forum - actually I'm confident you will.

Laura, I'd prefer the Accutron please.

have just donated £10 and a pleasure to do so

please include me in the raffle but if I win, please auction off the watch to highest bidder

Been following your posts; my 17 year old was pretty ill when he was 6 and its a lifelong condition but his bravery, resilience and fabulous NHS support since (the old Booth Hall in Manchester and then Manchester Children's Hospital deserve a big shout) have made our journey a relatively easy and at times uplifting one. So in a very small part I can imagine what you have been through, and hope that everything turns out well.

This has completely exceeded our expectations after just two days. By way of thanks I'm adding a WatchGecko 20mm orange stitch rallye strap to the first prize, like the one in this photograph courtesy of Tooks:

Looks good, doesn't it? I'll order it for delivery directly to the winner.
