Personally I wouldn't take that deal as the Daytona will always be rock solid. The jury is still out
on the ST.
But give it a go as you have nothing to lose and good luck

I thought you had already agreed a trade with a different Omega ? Did that collapse as the ST value fell ?
Fair point, put people are predicting the Daytona to fall slightly, didn't Haywood predict that he expects it to settle around the £13k mark and vintage Speedmasters are going up in price on a daily basis.
I agree the ST is the issue, but most people seem to think it will eventually settle a little above RRP.
Very hard to predict, I missed out on the Snoopy at retail price and not sure how long it took to reach the current value. I suspect, as others have said, that the watches are relatively easy to get hold of (albeit at a cost), but once they've all been delivered and the same-day flippers have flipped it could be a different story and that might lead to further price increases. Simple Supply vs Demand. To me, at least, the watch is significantly different to the usual special editions in the treatment of changes to the dial, hand and case finish. Other limited editions have had much less to differentiate them and yet still they've appreciated from what, in some cases, where reasonable starting points at below rrp. I seem to recall the "TinTin" wasn't all that popular until you couldn't get one... And I know it's not an Omega, but the ceramic Rolex Sea-Dweller could be found below rrp until it was no longer available and then the price shot up significantly (sold mine for around £5.5k which was below what I paid retail which in turn was a discount!).

Seem to be more than a few QC issues with the ST being picked up. Omega feeling the pressure? No idea, though I can't think that a release of 2000 watches should cause Omega this much trouble in QC
I see it now and their appears to be problems with other numerals on the sub dials.....perhaps caused by reflections?

Found out the reason for mine being delayed... it didn't make it through QC... if the one listed above did, christ knows what state mine was in!
Steve
I just checked and the last I heard from Omega was July 12th. Just sent them an e mail asking what's happening.
This is the one which came in today, perhaps it's in your spam folder? Although you may be luckier & be about to receive a "your watch is at X store, ready for collection" e-mail.

Dear Speedy Fan,
Though we're rapidly approaching the end of September and there's still a very good chance you'll receive your watch in the remaining week, the delivery date may spill over into October.
We're sorry you still have to wait a little longer, but rest assured, we're working hard to get the watch on your wrist as speedily as possible.
We will send you an email as soon as your Speedy Tuesday leaves OMEGA.
Should you have any questions, please ask.
Best regards,
Raynald Aeschlimann

Well, they will no doubt turn up. I hope it's worth the wait. I sold my Speedy Pro......
Got call for mine today.
pick up tomorrow.
Can anybody tell me if a 2016 speedy pro bracelet will fit the watch or are they different sizes?
Mine arrived 11 days after the notifiction email.
FWIW I have a high serial number (in the last 80% of numbers).
Can't wait for mine - dead excited
It seems a few arrived in Glasgow today then, just not mine :(

All quiet on the western front?
Mine arrived in London over a week ago, but still hasn't arrived for collection at the boutique despite me being told it was being dispatched onward the same day. The boutique are none-the-wiser and the Omega Key Account Manager (who called me) is on leave until the 23rd October and no other contact has been provided. With no apparent way of chasing it up it's continuing to be quite a drawn-out process... This must be quite a learning curve for Omega, which seems to want to control every logistics detail from manufacture-country-boutique-customer centrally but perhaps without the experience to do so.
Incidentally, the boutique at the Trafford Centre has received 3 and expects another 10 to arrive. They only receive customer details when the watch arrives in London and is prepared for dispatch to them so they can't keep customers informed themselves and are quite apologetic.

I got an email from Switzerland 2 October saying the watch would "shortly be leaving Omega". Received a phone call yesterday from the boutique saying the watch had been received and was now available for collection. Picking it up next week.
Picked mine up yesterday
To be honest it's rather underwhelming. So much so that I am wearing my standard moon watch today instead.
Cheers

I am due to collect mine this weekend. In two minds about it. The whole 'greed' thing has put me off. Can't decide.
Just wait until you see it. It's one of those which doesn't photograph the same as it looks in real life - it wasn't for me but some love it.
The leather strap is the worst I have ever felt.
It feels like cheap imitation leather. Its really bad!
The lume is not as bright on the sub dials as the marketing pictures lead you to believe, the brushed case looks great but it does give it a rougher more unfinished feel. The hands look rough as well.
There are plus points though -
The applied logo is great
The crown is a different shape to the standard watch with deeper groves (at least it looks like it to me) and this makes it easier to wind.
The lume on the dial (bar sub dials) is fantastic and looks great in the dark. The lumed OMEGA and Speedmaster is especially cool.
I like the radial markings on the sub dial.
Cheers
John

Pretty much summed it up. Of all, it was the brushed case that put me off most, though I can understand if someone never owned the original it might not bother them so much.
Applied logo should be brought back more generally by Omega, it was the nicest bit.

I've heard absolutely Jack sh*t,
Can only assume my watch was passed on to the reserve list crowd. If it ever appears it will be NOS by then.
Good job Omega had nothing to do with space missions themselves, Neil and Buzz would still be on their way home.
I would guess that Omega regard this as a major marketing success. Why not? All watches sold at full price, no dealer margin, a list of names of keen Omega buyers, Hugh publicity. What's not to like?
Omega will sell all these watches at full retail and consider the whole thing a success,no doubt.
Whilst I remain a fan of the watch, this whole episode has put me off the brand more than I ever was.
Re. the straps, I’ve read multiple reports of terrible quality and even saw a picture of one that had literally fallen apart.
Have to say that my experience has all been positive. The communications were fine, they were in keeping with the original promises. i.e. They said summer for delivery. I got a phone call from Omega's Business Development Manager in July confirming imminent arrival in the UK early in August and he was checking that I was ok to collect from the OB in Leeds.
The watch arrived in the second week of August and I was well looked after when I collected it.
Can't comment on the quality of the strap as it's a safe queen along with my Silver Snoopy, which is also unworn.
So for me I'm more of an advocate now than I was previously.
