Have they changed writers or are they researching the use of Sherlocks magic juice. I'm finished with it.
I stuck with Endeavour instead, a beginning, middle and a ending just how it should be !

With Steven Moffat married to Sue Vertue, who took over as producer from her mum, it would appear that there's been a lack of constructive criticism.
Perhaps the BBC were just so delighted to get Cumberbatch and Freeman back for another series (with their hugely successful film careers) that they couldn't care how good or otherwise it was.
I fell asleep in the middle third of the episode so that didn't help my understanding of the over-complicated and self indulgent plot!

More like an episode of Dr Who than Sherlock.
I said exactly this to my wife, and I'm not a particular fan of Dr Who although she is.
Last night's Sherlock was absurd rubbish. The further they have strayed from the original Conan Doyle masterpieces the more they have come unstuck.
The utter garbage about the sister was unforgivable, and frankly she was just another tedious Dr Who monster in my opinion.
So clever my foot fell off.
Best to pretend everything after Series 2 never happened. That was certainly the turning point and it all just got rather unsatisfactory after that and never recovered.
I did laugh when the continuity announcer interrupted the end credits to tell us that the DVD box set would soon be on sale; I'll bet they'll be queueing up for that!

Like a bad episode of the Crystal Maze on crystal meth
Sherrinford is actually St. Catherine's Island in Tenby.
We switched off at the point it was revealed that the Sister has superpowers ("if she talks to anyone for more than five minutes, she reprogrammes them and they have to do her will")
To me Sherlock should be about solving crimes not whatever was going on in this series, very disappointed.
Yeah, it unfortunately got a bit of a 👎 in my living room too...

Terribly unfair to the Crystal Maze.
More like a scifi channel movie based on Fort Boyard with Moriarty channeling the world's least threatening Leslie Grantham impersonator...
At least we know why Moriarty was a villain. Anyone that irritating would have spent half each school day with his head flushed down the toilet... in Reception!

Breitling Cosmonaute 809 - What's not to like?
Well, I did watch the entire episode, but only because I kept hoping it would get better. Alas, it didn't, so that's one and a half hours of my life I'm never getting back.
Enjoyed it muchly. I agree it wasn't a Holmes mystery but even so, I want more. The rest of you can go and boil your heads.
That's literally what happened to me watching it just now... although 22 minutes in my case.
Not just absurd poppycock, but utterly risible at the same time.
I am surprised no-one noticed that it was a case of the "Emperor's New Clothes" when it was still just a screenplay.
These people are capable of so much more and owe it to themselves and the brand (if not the viewing public) to do much much better.

Just watched it, what a load of old cobblers, certainly not Sherlock Holmes past, present or future. Reminded me a bit of the Arkham Asylum Batman/Joker stories, ...when we see Sherlock pirating the fishing boat he even leaps off the cabin and spreads his coat like a cape, very Batman-esque I thought.
I fear itīll go the way of Dr who and become unwatchable.
This article neatly sums things up:
http://www.vox.com/culture/2017/1/18...iew-plot-holes
It was ott, egotistical, flawed, full of plot holes. I enjoyed it.
That vox article should be taken with a pinch of salt, people don't turn into dribbling wrecks after taking drugs.
#1 I thought it was trying far too hard to be 'Sherlocky' and it disappeared up its own arse. Crap ending.
#2 I watched it whilst I was on a night shift so was a captive audience which was a good job 'cause I thought it was average at best. Complete and utter self indulgent drivel.
#3 I also watched this on a night shift, basically on the premise that as the other two were well below par this one would pull out the stops for a fantastic finale. Well......stick an infinite number of stoned chimps in a room with a typewriter and Bob's your uncle.
As mentioned previous,I much prefer the US version 'Elementary',and if anyone wants to watch a decent detective/crime type programme I can highly recommend 'Endeavour'.
Yes, Endeavour is very watchable. Will program the Tivo to grab all the Elementarys: I had previously dismissed/ignored it as being a poor copy of the original, but as things have turned out...
Series 1 ^ was okay but after two it all became samey. I have all of S3 on my Sky box and can't be bothered to watch them.
I agree with other comments on here. Like an even more smug and irritating verson of Dr Who, which I also can't stand. Very BBC.
