I had an SBS diver bought for me in April ( still have it ) but had to take it back as the second hand was not hitting the marker bang on ( watch ocd ). Luckily for me I am in driving distance into London so had the advantage of picking out the best one as an exchange. Apart from that it's a fantastic watch, if you like that kind of thing.

Just abit of advice, get them to check it before it's sent out to you.

    I don't regret buying mine

Managed to get it before the price hike & negotiated a discount with Silvermans.

Love mine. Until very recently I owned the classic original as well, but the re-issue is totally working for me these days...

    CWC

Great deals on these. I just got the message myself. Nothing wrong with a gently used one.

    Get 'em while you can.

Here's mine I picked up last year. Now I'm hooked.

This is my first post here but I am active on WUS. Do I have time for two forums?

How much were the reissues going for 5 or 10 years ago? Not impressed with the recent price hikes.

A lot less - I remember silvermans sending me the magazine order brochure for all they're stuff - I'm sure they weren't over £1000 more like £600

And Silvermans have just jacked the price up from £1500 to £1750.

The quartz were £200 back in the day and the auto non date was £350 and bit more for a date . I’m sure the SBS was £299. Again we are going back to 2010 maybe further

Yesterday the RN auto watch was £649. Today it's £899. Likewise, the quartz version was £449 and now £679. They jacked the prices up last year. Ridiculous.

Much as I like my 2 or 3 year old quartz RN, and leaving the rate of increase aside (presumably they think most buyers are new, one-off visitors who are not aware of previous pricing), £679 is bound to reduce sales. I wouldn’t pay that for the quartz now. It’s good, but I think of it as a £300 watch. Standard sapphire and better bezel account for some of the increase of course.

    CWC latest.

I loved my navy diver quartz but could never outlay what they are asking now for it just on some perverse principle that I will always know the original price I paid -

    Hmmm

I pulled out of an eBay bidding run on a 2013 SBS at £425 - it went for £450.

Whilst I like them, I am not sure I like them at the money being discussed here.

I fully agree Chris. I wouldn't want to pay that much for a work/rough and tumble watch and have it end up looking like mine . . . ;-)

Swing and a miss. I’d have expected more than a cheapo tin box for £2k, too. CWC are very greedy.

    Another tempter today................................

New just in black RM 82 dated straps. Genuine New Old stock Vintage RM Falkland issue straps. Free postage worldwide on this item.

Genuine new old stock vintage RM Falkland issue buckle on new black MoD spec webbing strap. Date stamped on the buckle.

20mm will fit General Service and divers' watches. Quick pull adjustment ensures exact fit and is easy to get on and off. Extra long approx 400mm length, which will fit over divers' dry suits or combat gear where the standard Nato strap is too short to do this.

The buckle stays threaded for ease of use, just slide it on and off. Press watch against thigh or body to give resistance against the strap end,
Pull the strap end, to tighten, keepers fitted to retain excess strap.

    Silvermans - good service

I know it seems to be fashionable to bash Silvermans for their price increases - but to be fair I found the customer service excellent. I swapped the Falklands strap for the French NDC strap and they were responsive, prompt and helpful throughout the process.

That's a good shot of the French on the CWC. Very good. The whole Silverman's site deserves a good look round, not just the watches. I would like to visit the shop one day.

Whilst their new shop is an improvement on the old. They still don't have much on display bar the 'fashion items' such as Alpha jackets and some of the more expensive boots like Altberg.
If you want something else shown on the website or catalog you have to ask at the counter and they will bring it down to you.

Thats good to know. When I was a kid, and lived in London, I used to spend all my pocket money in Laurence Corner army stores. They were near the top of Tottenham Court Road if I remember right.................
