Just checking to see if there is any information on a re supply of these?
Great watches and have had (and let go) several. I've decided I need another!

I spoke to Eddie a few weeks back, inquiring about the 18A.. Unfortunately, he has no plans to produce anymore.

I'm not so sure on the 18Q though, as I didn't ask.

I really like the Royal Engineer version, http://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.ph...royal+engineer
My "hard to come by" wish is owning a Royal Marine Commando PRS 18Q.

I hope the 18Q does come back and the 17Q for that matter.

I'm lucky enough to of kept my 18Q. I would be delighted if the 17Q made a comeback to join it. I'm sure that it would sell in sufficient numbers to make it worthwhile looking at the uptake and sales of the PRS18Q and PRS82 which are also in the British Military Watch category and have sold out. They also command strong second hand prices on the open market such as e-bay.

    Hi all,

Just wondering if there's been any word on the PRS18Q returning since this thread was started?

    Thanks.

I was impressed until I put it on the bracelet, now I am blown away

Does the Super Engineer bracelet suit the PRS-18 better than the Watchadoo Lumpy?

When the PRS-18Q is made again, it will have the ETA F.06.411 movement with full COSC. The only thing I haven't yet decided is whether to retain "GREAT BRITAIN" on the dial or "SWISS MADE", as it will be made in Switzerland due to ETA's refusal to supply COSC movements for watches built outside Switzerland.

    Eddie,

I would mark the dial with 'Swiss Made' as it would be COSC. I like the certified chronometer designation and it would make me want yet another PRS-18 to add to those I have already.

Why are you considering switching from Ronda to ETA?

^^^ Because I wanted it to be a certified chronometer and you can't get that with the Ronda.

Does that movement have the same sort of battery life as the Ronda?
I love my 18Q but a cosc version really appeals to me for some reason.

    Great news.

There are no off the shelf HAQ movements available?

Is it less expensive for a quartz to be certified than an automatic?

Yes.. I'd dearly like to see the return of the 18A. My beloved Fricker one is looking quite sorry for itself these days.

    Hitting the indices

So I've a question regarding the eta chronometer movement please, does the second hand hit the indices spot on or is it like the other Swiss quartz movements where this does not seem to happen in my experience?

    Thanks

I'd second the absence of a date for two reasons. The whole point of this watch for me is that it's a quality, rugged pick up and go quartz which would be negated somewhat by the need to change the date. Plus it looks cleaner without, especially if there's going to be extra text.

Date version would be a winner in my view. Don't buy the argument it would be less pick up and go. Having to change the date potentially once every month or so is no hardship.

I would prefer without a date. Maybe the movement is also for another watch.

The date would have to be changed 5 times per year. Can't remember if the crown is pulled out passed stop position to change the date. If so then the time keeping is broke up into 6 parts per year including DST change. So that's 2 months on average for the certification to show its worth.
