It isn't the pick up and go that makes me want a non date. I would just like a really symmetrical dial with equal lume at 3 and 9.

As far as I know, it will be the only officially certified chronometer with a NATO Stock Number currently available. Even if it's not, it will certainly be the least expensive.

I think the 18 is my favourite TF watch.

Hello Sir Eddy and to all,

I just thought I would revitalize this thread asking the obvious to me, how is it looking to get the PRS-18q by years end as you had mentioned in an earlier post ?

    thanks,

    Dan

Is there an idea of price that's been made known yet?

    No mention yet.

Previous model was just under 200 from memory. Fall in the pound plus cost of getting COSC certification I would guess 250-295?

Please Note: It is possible that Griswold may know nothing whatsoever about horology. It's even possible that he has never even owned a watch. It is also highly possible the he has a strange imagination. His wife insists he would be far better off paying more attention to taking his medication on time.

Hi Eddie, thanks for your response.
Some time later maybe? ;-) I could wait some more years unless you say it's not worth holding my breath.
Are there some feasibility issues that make a new 18A release very very unlikely or if sufficient demand showed there would be some hope? :)

The 18Q outsels the 18A by a ratio of 4:1. With a minimum order of 300 pieces, it's a lot of money to tie up for a slow-moving item.

    Very interesting to me!

Excuse the stupid question, but what does the NATO serial number signify? A supply to the MOD?

Does this count as Eddie being positively verbose? Its a huge amount of detail compared to the infamous 'No'.

    I see.

Now at the risk of going for triple jeopardy, what does the Nato number signify? Is it that the watch is manufactured in accordance with Nato requirements, for example?

    See this - http://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.ph...o+stock+number

Gives some explanation. It doesn't mean that the watches are issued as such, but it does mean that they can be ordered (by the armed forces for example) as they have a NSN. At least that's how I understand it. Some more knowledgeable people might be along to correct this...
