The dial in question has developed a very nice patina, but especially the 12' index triangle looks to have been victim of moisture in the case. What do you guys say- regular patina or water intake?
Looks like a made patina to me.
Hasn't Haywood got a Comex that is not a million miles from that colour.
No clue but it looks wonderful.
very nice.
Thats how I like the vintage watches to look.
They've got the patina but the bezel looks really smart and not all beat up.
I know the aficionados like them untouched(and that one may indeed be original,I don't know)but give me the fresh bezel look on the vintage dial and its perfect.
I like it
Wow... drooling over here. Im sad that i will probably never own such a beauty, but i really am happy for you! The patina here is much more even, probably a result of some years of being confined to a dark drawer, safety deposit- or a watch box.
Regarding the 5513 i posted, i can't think of anything else of that water making the tritium develop in such a way (with no real knowlege of tritium/water reaction). I had hoped someone had a similar dial in their archive, but thank you for all the response.
The pip has a strangely red, but less intense, hue too. I suspect it's some weird combination of use and conditions.
Where my lottery ticket?
