Stick with the standard version. On preowned market, one of the best watches to be had for the money.
I'm lacking a dive watch at the moment and pondering a Seiko MM300 ... but having started looking in earnest at one I see there are so many versions/iterations/special editions.
I had it in the back of my mind that there was one in titanium, but it seems there isn't?
Anyway what would people recommend? I'm a bit of a traditionalist I don't like funky colours (unles dark blue), weird hand combinations, and not any kind of collector of strange or vintage versions, so what's the best model to go for?
(Apologies if this is a bit of a newbie question but nearly all the discussion out there on these is among the already familiar ...).

Always thought it was pretty standard? The older non signed crown and the newer P & S lasered crown.
Latest generation = SBDX017.
They come with both bracelet and rubber strap.
Interesting .. so soes that mean that Seiko-philes prefer this one over the old one? (Fairly unusual, for the most part people aren't keen on updates).
I had a titanium Shogun for a bit and liked it in fact it was lovely on the wrist, but I prefer a bit more heft (8in+wrist so don't have a problem carrying a wee bit of size and weight).
No idea why Seiko continue to not put a proper signed crown on the MM300, the Sumo crown with the proper 'S' is infinitely more attractive and upmarket. The cheap looking laser engraved P & S looks pretty awful IMHO.
The standard models are very fine watches, but I was chuffed to be able to pick up an LE 012

I just bought a SBDX017 new last month and it is a really lovely watch. I don't mind the Prospex logo on the crown, but am glad they didn't put one on the dial. My wrist is about 7.5in, and I could get the bracelet sized perfectly, but the ratcheting clasp allows for infinite adjustment anyhow. It's also very comfortable and sits great, as long as you are used to thicker watches. I've read that some people don't like the bracelet, I very much do.
they need to get that ugly laser etched prospex logo off the crown.
instead add the "S" or atleast engrave the prospex logo... or better yet, leave it alone/blank. it was fine like this.
The one in titanium is the shogun, I have one. Absolutely amazing.

This may be wrong but seiyajapan say MAX wrist size 20cm/ 7.9 inch, worth trying it on before you buy if you can. If you do buy and it is too small I will take it of your hands for £100 ( i am good like that)

Lucky that you don't like this one causes it cost double of the normal. The dial looks fantastic but to me, Seiko is over confident about this set of hand.

There were few occasions that I nearly sold mine but when I turned it over, its the case back that saved it.
And the SLA013J case back for reference,
