25 years of service ended today

After serving me for 25 years the bracelet of my trusted 16610 beater suddenly went to pieces. Never been serviced and rarely cleaned and lived a rough life at times, so I can't complain really. Good quality.Glad I didn't loose the watch though.

Have to put on a Nato and start looking for someone who can repair it.

Always nice to see when a watch of that caliber hasn't' been nursed, they are all meant to be worn to the limit.

Same here. It'll have both the faux aging and the keep it pristine lads wailing and gnashing their teeth, albeit for different reasons. ;-)

I agree, be good to see the front. Wearing mine as I type this. What kind of beating has it been doing over the years?

What was the turnaround time like? I sent my Ex2's bracelet to him quite a few weeks ago and your post reminds me I haven't heard anything back from him.

used as it was built for.

would love to see the dial side shot.

have it serviced, it deserves it.

Looks like it's just the bar that has disintegrated. I would be tempted to replace that and get it back on the wrist.

Can we have a full frontal please?

It's quite ok. Mind, when I said not serviced, that was just for the bracelet. Watch has been serviced. Some dings and dents and the crystal is chipped. Nothing special

I bet that watch could tell a tail or two......

I admire people who have the balls to wear a watch in this manner.

Twenty five years you say. Has the dealer handed over the warranty card yet?

Great watch! I wear my watches the same, no need to nurse them or wrap them in cotton wool, spend thousands on them and lock them up, what's the point!!!

Exactly, I wear my "best" watch (PO) most of the time. Doesn't matter if I'm cleaning the cars or using the chainsaw. Buy them to wear them.

Is the cyclops on askew? Or is it just the angle of the picture?

I would say no, I think it is just the light reflecting at the angle the photo was taken.

I admire people who don't baby their watches. I am the same.
But,there is nothing more trite or vacuous than the expression -as it is meant to be worn.
There is no ONE way. People who baby their watches are as right as those who don't.
