    Chilly morning walk

Just a couple of snaps that I took whilst out with the dog this morning..... Pity I didn't have the 300mm lense for the deer spying on me!

    Thanks

Absolutely lovely Mike, looks like a great walk.
Did you use a filter on shots 3 and 4?

Hi James..... thanks. Actually no filter for any of the shots, I was surprised that pic 4 take out as it did... it gave a star burst effect which I didn't expect.

Early mornings here are great in the woods just as the sun rises..... always looks dramatic.

Wish I had my zoom lense though as the deer are always not too far away.... maybe next time.

    Thanks Mike,
I could have sworn you were using a ND filter for those shots!

    No I promise... I was using a standard Nikon d3200 with 18 - 55 lense.... no filters.

Thanks Martyn... I was hoping to get some 'breath' from the horse to add a cold effect... but he was not playing ball today...

See him most days so will try again in next few days....

I was hoping that it was going to be cold again this morning... but sadly very mild.

Will see what this week brings....

    Thanks all for the comments

Fantastic photos and location. Makes me very excited to get back to Somerset at Christmas. No dog alas, but trees and fields beat the hell out of Deptford Creek!

South east London, close to the Thames. There are nicer places for a country bumpkin to live.

Just in case that came off the wrong way (not sure what that smiley means) the country bumpkin I'm referring to is me. Still wondering, doubtfully, whether the uni would let me use the sports hall for an air rifle range. They'd probably say it gives the wrong !message given the terror threat. I'll live in the sticks again one day.

Just a quick snap of the dog this afternoon playing on a local shallow stretch of water in a nearby field..... trying to figure out what the frozen stuff was........

Although I see them almost everyday...... getting near enough to photograph them has been a problem

However sighted this one in the woods this morning and was well chuffed with the result considering it was a quick snap:

    ^^^ Oh well done!

I used to walk in the Margam Forest near Maesteg in south Wales which had many deer in it but I only ever saw one once! They are so elusive.

Looks like someone can find them though! http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/lo...t-deer-2084616

Thanks..... yes sadly we have the same issue here, although ironically more are killed by speeding cars than stalkers.....

Mrs Nealywheelie got to work this morning and, this was the view. So I've posted in this thread as the title seems appropriate.

& my favourite out of the half a dozen or so pictures she took:-

Her fingers were frozen to the bone being around -5/6 Deg, so snuck inside for a welcome mug of coffee.
