iconic watches - still a good guide for AD discount??

Looking at buying an omega speedmaster pro - rrp £3340.

I've generally always looked at iconic's prices as a benchmark for target AD discounts, but iconic's discount is c9% currently. it's generally always been 20-22%.

I know "grey" prices have gone a bit crazy recently, especially rolex, but has anyone got any very recent experience of omega AD negotiation.

I've bought a couple of omega's from the same AD and got 18% a couple of years ago. However, I'm thinking if only 9 or 10% is realistic in the current market, I might go for a high street AD 4 year interest free deal and use the cash elsewhere in the meantime.

I know I will only find out by going and doing a deal personally, but being forewarned is forearmed as they say!

Dom Hacketts got a new one a good bit cheaper.
Solid grey dealer who lots have dealt with.

Thanks. Heard him mentioned a good few times before. Good to have another price point comparison and an alternative trustworthy dealer to turn to if need be.

Chronext looks very interesting. Not bought a new watch for a while so they are completely new to me. Been doing some research though and they seem to have a good reputation on here and elsewhere. Is the forum discount still by PM as mentioned on another thread, or is it available by some other process now?

IW= Iconic Watches? If, so, Yes I agree, very good. Have used them before for both buying and selling. However, their prices are not that attractive currently.

My friendly Omega AD just matched the 20.5% I could get online via Chronext. It was a simple match it or I go with them, so the choice was make a few hundred quid today or the sale is gone forever. My preference was to purchase via the AD so was glad that they matched the price

I'd be interested too if there is additional forum discount. I am after an IWC Mark XVIII but the retail price is a bit steep!

    Christmas is coming guys!!

I'd be interested in the discount too if someone could PM me the details.

To be honest from an AD at the moment getting much more than 10% discount will be difficult. UK prices are so cheap at the moment compared to other countries that they are squeezed already. I imagine that is why Iconic's discount is lower than normal.

To get much more than that currently you would need to be a fairly loyal returning customer.

    Just my two cents

I got 20% last week. Perhaps you are asking in the wrong way.

I wonder how their business structure would change post-BREXIT. No more holding stock in Germany and posting them via mail to the London showroom?

    Hi Steve

Do you still have the discount code?

Looking at buying the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600 M Chronograph.

    Thanks, Dave

At present, Iconic seem to have lost a lot of their pricing edge; thewatchsource often beat Iconic by quite a bit!

Leonard Dews in Blackpool will do 20% off Omega at the minute.

Indeed; good for you. I have been making the point that it is untrue that grey dealers are always preferable. ADs are businessmen/women and want business too. Although the big chains are probably harder than the family owned stores.

That's quite a generous discount - is this across the range or just for the less popular models?

I was offered 20% off Omega from an AD very recently and I've never bought from them before.
