    Make more movements or watches,

I’ve 3 Nautilus 2 steel one gold each time I’ve purchased one from Patek London they spout the line of protecting customers investments, PP are regarded as the best in the world, a 20% rise will make them only more desirable to those who want one, pre-owned prices aren’t just based on RRP price but availability of this quality product, make more no, pay more yes.

    TBH I’m not sure!

This price rise on the 5711a/5712a has been annouced now but not with effect until the 1st March and Basel is the end of March so it would seem odd to only apply the 20% on two models now and the rest a month later?!

An across the board rise might be on the cards so maybe they are getting the biggest % out the way now and the rest is not going to be as strong a rise!

Also is this rise a response against the grey market prices or an attempt to seperate the SS Aquanaut and Nautilus ranges.

Lots of questions and guess time till tell!

If its ends up being a rise just for the 5711 / 5712 then I expect it will have a big impact on The Aquanauts which of late have already had a big surge of popularity inc 5164

Yeah agree they’ll be a knock effect!

I know they use different complications but I was always unsure why the 5712a was slightly cheaper then the 5164a it never sat right, I thought the 5164a was over priced.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see further increases across the range but can’t see the aquanauts going up 20% but you never know!

Doubt they will raise prices on the rest of their non sports lines, they can’t shift them as it is.

My take this is a targeted response.

Have you checked the historic prices across the range? I know my 5146 bought for £15k 11y ago is rather more than that to buy now.

In general, or on the Patek thread - I think lots of us are interested in the Speedy Tuesday.
It's just a matter of time...

Would love to see pics of your Patek as you must have 1 or 2 by now?

At least one of each by now surely?

It’s all fun and games until you get the call...

I got the call for a 5712-1A last week and will probably be collecting it next weekend. Seemed like a good idea to express my interest a few times (albeit mainly for the 5711, but we did discuss the 5712). Never thought the AD would come through as I have no buying history with them and they always look at me like a peasant when I traipse in their showroom.

Anyway, I can have the watch if I want it. It’s just at over 30.5k it seems like one heck of a lot of money. I don’t need to shift any pieces to bring it in, but if the Mrs catches wind I will probably have to move a couple on to keep her sweet.

The 5712 is my longest standing grail. I initially put my name down for a 5711 (as more of an “entry level” Patek), but they offered me this instead and said I can have the next blue 5711 as well. I won’t be buying the 5712 for that reason though, as this was the grail all along - it’s just come 5 years or so before I envisaged.

Go on, enable me please with pictures and platitudes!

I'm fortunate to have both but if I had to choose I'd opt for the 12.

Thanks for the shots and comments, guys.

Went to bed last night very excited and woke up this morning dead set against it??

Sometimes I think impulse purchases are better because you don’t have time to over think it. As it is, I’ll have had 10 days or so to talk myself out of it.

Still haven’t decided yes or no, but I’m leaning towards no at the moment and driving myself nuts in the process.

The main kicker for me is the massive price rise which leaves a bit of a bad taste, especially on the 5712 where it was over five grand!

So George - have you taken delivery yet? Seems like you've been considering since Nov 2016 - have you decided?

  33. #833
I collected it today. I nearly didn’t, I had buyers remorse before I’d even bought it, but eventually convinced myself to go along and “have a little look” - in the end I couldn’t get my debit card out fast enough after seeing the watch.

Thanks again for the shots cmcm3 and Cinch, I appreciate it.

George, it’s over to you now pal! Don’t let us down.

Congratulations! It is a lot of money but should you change your mind you will no doubt make a profit on it. Having said that when it's on your wrist it's really difficult to give it up. Enjoy

Agreed! It’s a lovely bit of kit, I can’t see myself parting with it. I read a few different reviews online and thought I’d hate it, but when I tried it on it sang to me.

actually from Blowers- mine has to go to Patek Service Centre as it was DOA so had to wait 15weeks or so - agony! MRP is about £14,500 - I paid a little over that. I tried AD in three countries , UK, HK, Canada all said waiting lists - either closed or 5+ years.
