    Hi Guys,

What are the rarest PP's at the moment on the market (current models not vintage)?

    5711a, 5712a....?

The rarest is one owned by you, it seems.

George, I know you say that you have bought three watches during the life of this thread, but do you have any intention of buying a PP and if so which one. I don't think I have the stamina or the will to live to read back over the whole thread.

I guess the 5% or so price increase is irrelevant for a fantasy buyer eh George?

Wonder after the rise if you'll still keep this thread going 😜

I think I stand more chance of getting a night out with Madonna than the bold George finalising a deal on a PP

Come on George we are all behind you.

Better wait until you find a wrist shot of some random on the internet, post it and pretend it's yours.

I did enquire the other month about a 5164.

Was told with the introduction of the 5650G, the movement may soon be discontinued.

Get the dealers to put it on a Timegrapher before you buy it.

Becuase the Rolex sales people behave like snobby mobile phone sales people, similar upstairs at PP and then there is another store upstairs I cant mention that has a guy that has very bad breath. For me reason enough not to buy there.

I feel your pain George, you've genuinely being trying to buy since last November and people keep putting objects in your way. a strong bout of halitosis has knocked you out the game once again. May I suggest carrying tic tacs* in case such an event happens again, so you'll be able to combat the problem.

    * Other mints may be available.

I bought my first PAM from the WOS Regent Street store and got a few extras thrown in, along with glasses of champagne to boot!

Having been back since, I will give you that some of the staff are a bit hit and miss, but on the whole its a pretty good store IMO. Very slim chance of getting any of the hard to get watches at RRP though, but pretty sure that's the same for most shops in London

Please ensure you try to get a photo with a similar wrist to the one you used for the JLC.

I wouldn't bother with any central London dealers for purchases any more. The only decent service is from the PP Salon and Wempe.

To be fair to George, buying a Patek isn't exactly small money and I can appreciate the dilemmas/choices it can throw up. And for more novice collectors the dynamics with ADs/pricing can be a complete minefield.

Hopefully when he can George will share pics of what Patek he eventually gets. Remember the journey counts as much as the destination!
