Anyone store their watches with crown out?

Just wondering if anyone leaves their watches ready for the next time with a powered up reserve but crown pulled out?
I personally don't do it, I let them wind down, but wonder what problems if any could arise from leaving the watch primed.

You could forget to screw the crown in, take a swim and destroy your watch. It has happened to people who own Pateks, so take care.

People prone to such stupidity are perhaps better served with a Seiko.

I'm thinking more about hacking watches, in which case you'd have to set the time anyway, so there would be a necessary interaction that would lead to pushing the crown back in afterwards.

I did it with a Citizen, and to be fair, it was indeed my own stupid fault
Fortunately a replacement movement was surprisingly cheap.

I picked up the watch next to me, pulled out the crown, and it continued to tick....

Only on my quartz watches so the battery lasts longer.

No. Can't really imagine why it would be a good idea...

This has been discussed before and those who know what they are talking about recommend letting a watch run down rather than stopping it by pulling the crown out. As I recall it can put a strain on the movement because you are effectively putting it on hold.

Always with my vintage electric/electronic watches, to save battery life and also contacts where relevant as they are consumables and not cheap in the case of old Hamiltons.

If you do insist on having the crown out, then at least make sure you keep the watch in a low humidity environment.
