Happy enough with that... starting at 6pm if I remember right?

I can't pull an all nighter though as it's an hour and a half to get home!

Yes, 6pm start but we can take it as slow or as fast as we like.

Another bump for the GTG. Get a n touch if you want to come along. I'm going to PM everyone on Monday to check any last minute confirmation or cancellation.
    Have a great weekend!

I haven't really asked. As far as the club is concerned, there is an extra security guy just in case on top of the usual surveillance.

I was going to bring a few.

If someone could bring a GS for me to have a look at I'd appreciate it. I've never handled one before. I'm more than impressed with the Seikos I own, but I'd like to see how much of a step up the GS is.

I was thinking the same a few weeks ago. I will be coming from work so not sure about travelling with a collection of watches up my arm to work and then across London to the meet. In fact, I am a little more worried about people targeting us on the way back from the meet, either because of posts on here or just seeing us showing off watches in the casino.

    Thoughts ?

Sorry for my ignorance but what is a GS ?

I'm sure the security in the casino would be more than happy to escort you to a waiting taxi.

I do believe GS means Grand Seiko.

As Yeti said, one of the doorman will be more than happy to "escort" you to a taxi. Getting there is another story. I haven't disclosed which casino it is publicly and only fairly established members have been told the location.
    Grand Seiko I guess.
PMs will be coming this afternoon to ask to confirm attendance but feel free to post here to save me time.
Yeti, are you coming? Forget our misunderstanding about the Daytona, it's all water under the bridge and you, and your father, would be more than welcome.

Hi Gab, that's very kind of you. I've never been to a gtg, and although this sounds fabulous, I'm just wondering if the time I finish work at 5pm, whether il have enough time to get into town. Just to confirm, it is on Tuesday?

Tuesday, yes. You should have plenty of time. We start at 6 but people will be coming at different times.

  18. #118
Guys sorry I am going to have to drop out, as work looks like getting in the way of having fun and I will now not be in London, hope you have a great time and it's a huge success and I can make the next one gutted.

Thanks for organising Gab…. Had a nice time!

Currently stranded at St Pancras as I inadvertently booked an Uner pool and seanst150 and I ended up in Fitzrovia with a couple of American girls…. Sean made his train but, I've now got an hour delay and will get the 1115 getting me in 0109…. Oh joy!!!!!!!!

  26. #126

You are very welcome, I'm glad you had fun. From my point of view, it was great to meet you all and have a chat about this crazy hobby of ours. Tomorrow I'm going to have a chat with my club director to see if we can make it a regular thing, perhaps every last Tuesday of the month.
I would welcome any feedback on how to improve it.

Lastly, what £25 MK? You've left with more money than you came in with!

Gab, thanks again for arranging last night. I would have loved to have stayed later. Being a school night, I needed to get home at a reasonable hour.

Nice one Gab for that, i had a great time and enjoyed meeting everyone and loved all the watches you guys brought, looks like a dreadnaught is on the horizon.

Sorry I had to bail early, the missus was put to the belt for it! Dave how were the Lamb Chops? I ended up settling for a chip buttie.....

100% put me down for another if you can arrange it!

The lamb chops were excellent! I hope you hit your door sorted.

The night was great and Gab was a perfect host, the venue was really good and I would recommend another visit. Good banter and friendly atmosphere.
Many thanks again to Gab for organising

Gents, a pleasure meeting you, and Gab, top notch hospitality - thank you so much for organising the event. I have never been to a GTG before where it pays to attend - literally! ;)

Given that £150 worth of playable chips were from me, you've actually lost £10 between you two...

If I can swing it I will attend the next GTG.

    Cheers Richard

    Hi all,
I'm going to create a new post soon but just in case any of you subscribed to this one...
I'm planning another GTG in 3 weeks time. Same time, venue and deal. 18th of July. If this one goes as well as the previous one, I'm going to have one every month the last Tuesday of the month.
