Looks amazing, I'm speculating here, but could it be designed to fit in a holder in the cockpit instead of being the wristwatch version? I'm sure you would see evidence of the lugs being removed if that had happened.
I posted some pics of a pocket watch left to me by my Grandfather in Watch Talk and was advised to stick a post in here for some more expert opinion.
From Googling it appears to be a B-Uhr of some sort... possibly a Stowa B-Uhr Baumuster Type B ?
It's 55mm, stainless steel (?) with no markings on the case, except for a serial number stamped crudely on the back. There also appear to be no lugs to attach a strap, although I guess they could have been removed. I have found an identical image on a forum without lugs.
The Stowa wiki page seems to indicate that only 42 of the type B pilots watches were made... Now it seems like a long shot, but can anyone identify this, or suggest where I can take the watch to get it verified. It also needs some attention as it's not working and the winder appears jammed, although pulling out the crown allows the time to be changed.
I have little doubt that this is genuine WWII - my Grandfather also managed to acquire a Luger and ammo (!!) which he kept hidden until he died a few years ago. (We handed this is when we were going through his stuff.)
I can take more pics, if it will help...
Cheers,
Daniel.

Try reaching out to Andrew Leftley - he is a member here, but cannot remember his user name. (Search function)
Andy is a guru on military watches some might be able to help.
Whoever does not know how to hit the nail on the head should be asked not to hit it at all.

Must be aleftley? Or else the OP might try www.timeworldservices.co.uk.
Thanks chaps - much appreciated.
I will ping him an email and see what's what.
(anyone know why I can't type spaces (ie the spacebar doesn't work !) if I include a post in my reply using the [ Quote ] tags ?)
Worth trying a member called geronimo as well I think.
Keep us posted.
Hi Guys,
Thanks for the referral gents - I have replied to your email Daniel.

Thanks Andy... I will be in touch soon.
Quick update...
Andy has now inspected the watch and it is indeed a rare Stowa Baumuster B-Uhr Type B, although it's been modified a little in the last 70+ years; lugs removed, re-plated (badly), re-lumed (badly) and it needs a new balance staff and mainspring.
I've left it with him to work his magic.
I will report back in a few months when I get it back
Thanks for the update, great news. The damage actually doesn't sound so bad. Glad you didn't take the knife to it ;).
Look forward to seeing the pics when it is done.
Quick update... Andy has worked his magic and it's winging its way back to me. Should hopefully arrive tomorrow.
I might try and contact Stowa and see if they have any more info on it, although I suspect any records were destroyed when the factory was bombed in 1945.
Pics tomorrow
Daniel.
Did you get it back in dieing to see 😉
