Well, it seems to me that you are the obsessed type in this exchange. Mentioning my real name in every post is a bit creepy, isn't it? Not that my identity is a secret, I have used the same forum handle for many years and on many fora and a quick online research will return my full name and quite some of my background. The same cannot be said about you, you make every effort to hide your true identity. I am convinced that you have a number of active and former IDs on this forum and your only reason is to troll forum members.

What I have learned about forum trolls is that they are attention seekers and nothing frustrates them more than getting no reaction. Hence, I leave the floor to you now, my little Rumpelstiltskin.

Back to the topic, a 2017 SS and Gold SkyDweller with white dial in Doha Duty Free earlier this week, and the same model in WOS Perth (Oz). Seems to be following me around! $15k for it in Doha. Back through tonight so will take a look for something a little more elusive.

Just to be completely clear, I thought your forum name was Ralf, must be the predictive text thing. I assure you I have no interest in you, have not looked on any other forum, nor performed any search. In my limited activity here, I see you as someone who posts at me with the pure intent of drawing a reaction and in the rest of your time you pick on others in the bear pit and frequently spoils thrwads on sales corner. Pointing such poor interaction is not troll like.

Had a look today still 2 in the window.

White dial mixed metal & a black dial with diamond markers neither ceramic. Both had bezel protectors just to make you look twice.

You can’t. My point was that it isn’t a hard to get or particularly sought after watch.

Perhaps a silly question, but what are the 3 explorers?

Gassan in Schiphol this week. I managed to completely miss the Rolex Boutique so these are from Gassan Watches

    Nothing especially interesting

Came back through Heathrow T5 with connecting flight back to Manchester. Nothing of note in Rolex Boutique either

Visited Goldsmiths at Cribbs Causeway near Bristol today.
And in their order received this week and on display they had:
    DSSD
    Black dial Explorer 2
Blue dial 41mm on a Jubliee bracelet and smooth bezel - very nice
    Explorer 1 (214270)
Daydate 40mm with the green dial and Roman numerals
    Milgauss GV

Yesterday at Westfield Stratford they had DSSD, Explorer, both Explorers 2, both Milgauss. So nothing interesting, but once all the non popular SS Rolex were available at the same time. They have lists for GMTs, Subs etc so those probably never make it to the window.

As of last Friday, Tarratt's in Leicester has a GMT II LN in the window. I kept it quite because I was considering it for myself, but I've decided to go with something else. Surprised there was no-one on the list for it!

Mid 80s in the UK and available for RRP sale, 4 digit references that struggled to sell. Waiting lists have been around since the introduction of the 16520 Zenith in 1988. You may see one at a premium price in the likes of Burlington Arcade

There were a few maverick independents who rejected the whole nonsense and put the 116520 into their windows at a time just a few years ago. For a short while the premium was shrinking almost to nothing and supply had seemed steadier.

Every time I've passed through Amsterdam or T5 recently the offerings for SS sports watches has been pretty dire. If not absolutely zero.

I'm heading back through Moscow and Amsterdam on the 27th so will have a look.

There was a white dial 116520 in the window of Preston's in Wilmslow last year. It didn't last very long!

Not quite a Daytona, but my BLNR came from a UKAD shop window earlier this year.

Not quite.... October 2015 one of my local AD had a full set, including the elusive white steel Daytona at £7950. I should have bought it but I don't like them on my wrist.

I’m flying to Moscow in January - are there any good watch retailers in the airport there?

I landed at Sheremetyevo about 11pm long after most places were closed. I'm positive there was a good sized jewelry and watch shop in the international departure lounge but never had a chance to give it a good lookover.

Was in Charles Fox in Bournemouth today and they had two sub dates in the window - both bi-metal,steel and gold - one with a black face and the other with a blue (both £9900). They also had 3 precious metal daytonas, none with prices displayed.

Asked about a ss sub date and the woman said their waiting list was 1 year....

In Meloneras (Gran Canaria) and both Rolex shops have the date and non date subs. Was here the same time last year and they both had them as well as BLNR’s in each back then.

Haven’t checked the prices and there’s the import cost as well I guess, as well as a ropey euro rate but supply is better than blighty.

Shouldn’t be as it is part of Spain and therefore EU

Edit - think there is a special status and not in the customs union.... so guess I am probably wrong.

Would be handy to know as in Tenerife now :)

Yeah as they are not part of the trade arrangement they are classed as buying outside the EU so import duties apply.
