Alternative to a blue Prospex monster, what is out there?..Sorted with a Seiko SNZH53

As many watch nuts out there I currently have an itch to scratch

OCD also plays a part in this quest.... my 4 watch winder currently has room for 1 more automatic watch and it needs to have a blue dial and/or bezel

my current collection is an Original Pelagos, SD4000 and a Seamaster 300, I don't dive but obviously I like the style.

My time on TZ has opened my eyes to many brands I otherwise would never have come across, Armida, Obris Morgan, Orient etc. and I'm sure there are many more out there...

    I'm currently considering a Seiko Prospex SRP581K

but before I go for it, what else might I not know about but should consider? needs to be Blue dialed or Blue bezel and similar ££'s to the Seiko

    cheers

You could try an Armida A9 - comes in a rather fetching shade of blue and the quality and service is great for what you pay.

    How about a Blumo?

Cracking watch, and lovely shade of blue too.

I do like the Armida and Seiko definitely in the running,
the new Turtle is quite nice, after a quick search I can't find the 'Blumo' SBDC003 for sale currently

They are much sought after, and rarely sold once acquired (for good reason!)

Any blue watch but a Blumo or blue monstrosity.
Go for Ch. Ward or any other micros.

I'd go for the SRP773, blue Turtle reissue.

A better image of the SBDC003 Blumo here

The SBDC033 is OK, but I'd personally rather not have the ProSpex X on the dial.

I do like the look of that,
the Prospex X doesn't bother me either way, out of all the Seikos though the monster still appeals most

I can understand that. I must have had 20 Monsters now - different dials, generations, on bracelet or on rubber, but none have lasted.
The Sumo, to me, looks and feels superior.

    decision made...kind of

    some good suggestions
as good as the new and old 'Blumos' look they are more than I wanted to spend on this one,
the Precista is nice but the Dial/bezel look too busy for my liking, so I look back at my original choice the Prospex Monster and decide the same...it's too busy

so after searching the forum I come across the Seiko SNZH53K and thought this could fill the void, crap bracelet maybe (?) but worth a punt with a rubber or nato so ordered yesterday evening to give it a try...roll on Monday

Sorted... my new SNZH53 arrived and I'm more than happy, my itch has been scratched on this one

glad I changed from my original choice of Prospex Monster and while the recommended 'Blumos' would have fit the bill the price went against it.

Seiko arrived and first impressions were/are spot on for the money.
The colour of the blue dial and bezel is just what I was looking for, with subtle changes depending on ambient light
The bracelet may not be the finest but suits and is more than adequate, the bezel 'clicks' aren't perfectly smooth and lume is minimal on the hour markers, still I think it's spot on for the price paid

I ordered an Obris Morgan isofrane style strap to go with this which arrived very quickly and was excellent value for money, unfortunately was too long.
A ZuluDiver replacement was ordered yesterday and received this morning which was speedily fitted and is perfect

so that's it, watch winder full, 2 black 2 blue OCD sorted...job done
