    Can you get short Nato's?

Just bought a G10 which had 4 Nato's with it. This would be great if my wrist was a big as my ankle. The other Nato's I've seen are the same length (i.e. long).

Can you buy short Nato's or are they a generic thing?

why can't you just cut them down and heat seal the ends?
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.

This. A quick forum search will show how to do it. You can practice by cutting and sealing at ever decreasing lengths until you reach the desired length/skill level.

I have cut down straps in all material and it is not that hard. Sealing the end of a NATO is also surprisingly easy but I like the coin idea in the video. Give it a go with your cheapest strap !

Right I'm going for it. Gives me an excuse to buy one of those jet lighter things as well.

Also, Natos do vary in length. Eddie's ones are the proper length, but the cheaper ones you can find on eBay and elsewhere are normally a bit shorter. The one that comes with the Hamilton Pan Europ is even shorter to the point where it's more like a normal strap and no longer fit for its original purpose, which is to extend around your wetsuit, flight jacket, etc. This may not sound useful, but it can be. Normally people just fold the end back down and tuck it back through the last keeper. Cropping the end is certainly possible, but to anyone familiar with Natos, it looks a bit wrong.

Eddie's ones are the proper length

    From the TF website.

Every strap has an overall length of 290mm, excluding buckle*. The specification calls for a 60mm spacing between the second and third rings (where the watch head fits) which is often inadequate to prevent the rings fouling the lugs on many of today's watches. The spacing on these straps has been increased to 80mm to accomodate larger watch heads.
I know I'm probably in a minority but that means Eddie's tend to be a bit big for my wrist/watch combo.

Which is a pity because the material is superior to almost every other Nato I've tried.

Not a Nato, but I just got a Eulit Perlon and it is a bit shorter than a standard nato, probably an inch or two?
