I cannot think of anything else you might need unless, dare I say it, a G-shock as I wouldn't really like to tinker with the motorbike wearing either.
A lovely duo you have for sure.
I must be getting old but I find the more esoteric watches are just not getting a look in since getting the explorer. It is down to these two that get the most wear.
Both are 39mm and I find complementary in purpose.
I guess it's a phase and the others will get a look in, but at the moment - they aren't.
Martyn.

it's actually hard to think of another watch that could fulfill other needs as these two are a perfect blend... yes maybe a more sporty one, or a g shock indeed... or a white gold Daytona ot Yachtmaster II. But that's only my taste

A lovely pair - and definitely complementary!
oops sorry mate, didn't want to bother you at all! i'm a bit new to posting things here that's why... won't happen again promise
Great and complimentary pair Martyn. As you probably know from my own posts on the subject, I'm avidly/rabidly awaiting a new Exp, with a similar intention to move to two core pieces and streamline the sports/non-formal side of things.
In your case, I think this is a very strong duo. I have been reading Hodinkee's new series of "2 watch collection" posts, and they don't work at all: they have so far picked pairings that are so similar as to make any Venn diagram of their merits virtually a circle. Your pair on the other hand covers a lot of differing bases while keeping a certain resonance between the two watches. I like that.
The new Explorer really works for me, the PP goes without comment - lovely. I've had so many X33 gen 1's and 2's that I've lost count, brilliant watches that every time I've flipped I've then wondered why? Currently have something very similar as my SOTC (very poor) pictures will show. You must be pretty chuffed with that lot.

Excellent pair Martyn and the contrast between the SS and dark face and the gold and white of the PP gives you all bases covered. I have gone done a similar route of consolidation to just two watches after clearing out about a dozen watches.

I had looked at a SS white faced Daytona, but it was just too similar to the Snoopy, so I opted for the TT with the champagne dial and that makes such a difference. Off to a wedding today, so the Daytona will be worn as it is the dressier watch.
Wow really given me something to think about.
I reckon you need beater, as they are both nice watches for sure. But surely anything else is unnecessary!?
Both lovely watches and tbh if I had those there would be very little else getting a look in too! lovely watches Martyn!
Great pairing, I'm still yet to see the new Explorer in person
Thats a fantastic pairing, and I think about this more than ever now, just having a couple of watches,my steel sub never really leaves my wrist these days, but I can't stop myself looking for the next watch, must be the chase I guess!!
