    Tudor 1994

just going through some stuff (having a clear out!!!!) and came across this Tudor catalogue, among many others, from 1994.

I had used the catalogue to help me decide which Tudor Chrono to buy. I got the 71960 in the end and got a great discount off the RRP.

Long since gone, there are many times I wish I'd kept it, such a wonderful thing is hindsight.

How much would you have to give to own one today?

I was wondering how the Tudor Sub compared to the Rolex version at the time and found a 94 price list here: https://imgur.com/gallery/0WhCo

It suggests the Rolex Sub Date £1870 against the Tudor version at £555

The Steel Daytona in 1994 cost £2620.

More remarkably is that the two tone 16523 was £4815. These days the 16520 is pushing £15k and the 16523 is hovering around the £9k mark.

That seems about right, for some reason I think I paid about £2300 91/92.

To my admittedly horrible maths it looks like Tudor subs have risen in value/price more than Rolex.

Hang on while I retrieve cat from pigeons ;)

There was a few, a couple I may keep as they relate to watches I still own but the others I'll offer out.

Also among the "junk" were some beautifully illustrated auction catalogues from 1997,98 and 99. four from Sotherby's and one from Christie's. Some stunning pieces pictured in them.

    Plus wristwatch annuals from 1999 to 2003 and 2006, 7 and 9.

Is that the equivalent of the likes of the Dandy, Beano and Topper annuals you used to get for Christmas off your mum and dad. I will have to tell my mum I want the 2018 wristwatch annual for Christmas

You know how it is, someone told the kids to get Dad a wristwatch annual for Xmas, then every sodding year I got another dam wristwatch annual.
