I think our very own Burnsey66 MAY have owned this at sometime. It may be worth your while in dropping him a pm to ask the question.
Hi,
just received this military Casio G Shock DW-6600 from a british seller;
the seller claimed this watch to be an australian military issued watch from the "ADF - Special operations command, Sniper - Afghanistan."
This is what he told me according the infos he got from it; but of course we have no proof about that.
My thought is that is a real issued military watch, may be a british one, may be an australian.
The engraving on the back is very closed to the engraving used on CWC RN or SBS : the british broad arrow along a number of issue (here '7') and a double zero '00' for the year of issue 2000.
Some people here are going to argue that british or australian military Casio bear no marking at all.
That was also my though about french military Casio DW-6600.
I am collecting french MN Casio since 2007 and while I am used to see DW-9000 with military markings, I never saw french issued DW-6600 with marking... untill last year when I get from a good source two military DW-6600 with close markings "C098" and "C101" (see pictures). I have no information about the signification of the 'C' (that could stands for 'commando') but those are for sure french military DW-6600.
Also I remember that I had one US military DW-6600 with an ugly marking from the DSRV-1 Mystic (picture).
That's why I am persuaded that british or australian military watch has some brothers/sisters somewhere and would like to get more information about it !
you are welcome !
best regards from France,
Here the pictures,
the bezel has been replaced
Here my two french MN DW-6600 :

I gave this away for a donation to the fundraiser, here:
http://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.ph...ation-Complete
The photo’s have been moved although I still have them, PB is currently down.
That was Burnseys, I recased and re-sealed it for him, the original strap and case was smothered in glue and oddly enough stank of fish! I can't help with whether it was British or Aussie though
I have no idea but I will add that if it was Aussie, it was not issued in Afghanistan, as the Aussies got there in late 2001, not 2000. Special forces were there til 2002, and then absent again until 2005, but only til 2006 when the engineers moved in for reconstruction work.
All from the Wiki page.
Note, there is a picture on that page clearly showing an Aussie wearing this model of watch.
D
By any chance did you keep the original bezel and strap ?
and BTW I am still looking for information about it…
Who was the first owner before it goes to the fundraiser ?
regards

You'd have to ask Burnsey I'm afraid as all the parts I've replaced are returned to the owner.
If it helps......
I bought the watch as a non runner on eBay, around 2012/2013
It was bought (and sold) without knowing of any military history - no pictures of the caseback on the listing etc
When I got it, it needed a new bezel and strap, but the springbar holes where ruined so as it was purchased for a "beater" I glued the bars in place when fitted.
I quickly got bored and gave it to my brother. He pretty much wore it to death.
It was then passed to Burnsey who gave to Duncan to bring back to life.
I cant comment on the "fish" smell though im afraid.
Also checked back through my eBay history and cant find the listing.
