    SOTC-June 2016

I have had some changes to my watch box over the last couple of months so I thought I would post my current line up.

As time goes on it is getting harder to flip and the 2500 PO, IWC Mark XVII and Speedy Sapphire are close to keepers

    Current lineup....

IWC Mark XVII - I know the date window divides opinion but this is a great watch. Very comfortable and looks fantastic on its bracelet or IWC leather.

Tudor Heritage Ranger-I took this one in trade and I have been very impressed by the overall quality. It has a lovely clean dial and the bracelet is very comfortable.

PO 2500- A classic watch and probably my overall favourite ever. This is my 4th one so can't let this one go.

Speedy Sapphire Sandwich- I have had every modern version of the classic Speedy - 3570.50, 3572.50 but I finally picked up a 3573.50 from sales corner a few months ago.

Blue Aqua Terra Master Co-axial- This is my third AT having previously owned a 2500 Blue dial and a 38.5mm 8500 grey dial. The Blue 41.5 mm is my favourite and the dial is amazing. The AT is an ideal work watch.

PO 8500- This one arrived yesterday after ged answered my WTB. I don't know yet if this one will be a quick visit but I have always wanted to try a 8500. Compared to the PO 2500 its is not as comfortable and the case is too thick. However, on the positives the build quality is excellent and the orange numerals really pop in the sunlight. I was on the lookout for the orange bezel version but none were readily available.

    Anyway, some pictures taken earlier.

    Thanks for looking.

    Michael

I still think you need some vintage in there...

    Otherwise, it's looking good!

Vintage and I don't get on. Although, perhaps a vintage dress watch when I get a bit older :)

What a nice set of Omegas! And I don't just say that because my old watch is one of them.

On the 2500 8500 debate. I never felt the 2500 at all, just couldn't see why I would move from my SMP to it. Having a BP FF the thickness of the 8500 just felt normal to me. Give it some time Michael.

My Speedy is a lifer. I lusted after it for years and it has loads of sentimental value for me. The sapphire is wonderful.

Enjoy the watches and the sun, however long it continues.

Lovely collection, quite a strong shared style between them.

Thanks ged. I will give the 8500 some time. I am on the lookout for an orange bezel.

    Nice collection Michael.

I am sure that the overall quality of the 8500 series PO will win you over even more over the coming months.

I think I must be getting on because the dress watch is strongly calling me now, after always having divers and chronos 😃

Really lovely collection - I would also say something white faced/dressy-ish. Loads of options out there, so I guess plenty to flip and try

I've been thinking that too. Trouble is the only ones that appeal are BPs or VCs. And to make matters worse, the gold ones! That ain't going to happen

What no Rolex Mike maybe a DJ for evenings? Nice collection and it fits your watch box! Maybe I'd lose one PO once you know which one is a keeper. If it were me it would be the 2500 as it is slimmer, just personal preference.

I have followed you collection updates and you seem to have a good eye for a watch and the collection is looking really good... If I may ask, why did you move on the Rolex Explorer so quickly?

    Matt...

Martyn, had a few Rolex but none have stayed including Explorer 1, Explorer II and SubC.

A white dial Datejust II might be in my future. I agree re the PO so will wait and see how I get on with the 8500.

    Thanks for the kind words.

It was a lovely watch but I don't like the taper on the Rolex bracelets. Also, I wanted to try a Seamster 300 so the Explorer made way.

Yes, it has moved onto a new owner.

Loved the Solo as you know but in reality it was a bit too big for my wrist. If it was 40/41 it would have been a keeper.

That is a nice collection, I've just picked up a 8500 PO too, very happy with the size & I don't have big wrists. Love the Tudor, that does look good, plain & simple but great with the red seconds hand.
