    Billy Crystal's Muhammad Ali routine

I hadn't been aware of this before. Its quite a performance in itself, let alone its setting

Regrets, but that seemed rather simplistic and treacly; for me, it only confirms that he was an unfunny, pandering hack thirty-seven years ago, too.

Frankly, Ali deserves better than to have his legacy used to prop up Billy Crystal's lame career, who no doubt posted this to his own channel for entirely-altruistic purposes. :P

Crystal was obviously asked back then to do a routine at an Ali tribute - I really think it's a ridiculous suggestion
to say it is now being used to prop up his lame career......he's presented the oscars more times than anyone else
and is a muti millionaire actor- few comedians or actors have ever been held in such high regard in Hollywood.

... and afaik, Crystal is asked to make a speech on Ali's funeral later this week. They had become friends over the years. So it's perhaps simplistic, but in a way Ali and his family liked it.

Also on YouTube there's footage of him doing it again at MA's fiftieth birthday celebrations

Fair enough; I suppose his hammy act simply puts me in a cranky mood.

King of all needy, no-talent hacks Jay Leno has a similar effect. :|

Ali liked Crystal so much he used to call him 'little brother.' They were good friends, which was all based on Ali's initial enjoyment of Crystal's 'Ali' routine.
