New Daytona white with ceramic bezel

    Can't afford one?
Can afford one, but don't want to wait years?
    Ebel has the answer!!!!!!!!

Also does day and date too, so 'better' than the Rolex ;)

A four year old Ebel for nearly two grand, when you can have something like this for under a hundred quid.

You need to face it OP, some people want to buy something. They do not need the likes of you offering poorly judged alternatives.

I took one of these in a trade once. A great watch for the money IMO, lovely bracelet too. However, I don't think it's comparable to a Daytona in terms of build quality, residuals or desirability.

You should never joke about Rollies, especially Daytos. They are serious watches

Surely rules don't apply in Trollsville?

    Really!?
Take it easy fella, just a light hearted post, no trolling intended.
It's not my problem if people take it seriously and get their panties in a twist over such a trivial matter, it's their issue

Your posting history tells me otherwise.

You like to play the comedy card when pulled up, but IMO you (not always) post for a reaction.

    Maybe just a lighthearted troll?

Not a new discovery, one hung around at under £1000 on SC recently. Nice watches, unpopular and in no way shape or form comparable to a Daytona.

    Pointless post IMO.

This is a more legitimate alternative, albeit no ceramic bezel.

Even came in a Daytona case.

Kk, the Ebel might be the rarer watch but it is absolutely awful IMO.
The Tudor has classic lines and I personally find it beautiful. Plus I love the extra date functionality compared to the Daytona!
There is a picture of mine next to my more tool like big block...

The troll who started this thread can usually be found trying to pick apart every thread in sight and throw it as far off topic as possible.

I thought there might be hope of it changing but it seems not.

Having known Ebels of old I'm sure you are right. Personally I'd take the Tudor over the Daytona.

But can anyone explain why Rolex fanboys are so humourless? I was only trying to keep things light.

I'm am ex-Sub owner (twice) myself but in the end find both Sub and Daytona just a bit 'Meh'. Bear in mind I work closely with salespeople in an organisation (US owned software company) where you'd think Subs or (with the older blokes) DJs are compulsory uniform along with jeans, pin stripe jackets and a nice pair of brogues. While IWC is banned.

I'm actually quite a fan of the 39mm Explorer or Milgaus, but never seen one of either yet. The lack of imagination is rather depressing.

Maybe one day if i am good and I please the Rolex gods they will select me to be allowed to spend over £8k on a Rolex Daytona. When that day comes and i am chosen i will finally know i have made it :-

If I did not have a huge thing for chronographs a milgauss would be one of my next choices! Especially the light blue dial with the green saphire is a think of beauty.
Never had the chance to own a Rolex though and I don't think I ever will. Amazing quality but you strap one on and everyone assumes you are rich! Apart from the WIS of course...
So I have chosen to steer clear. There are so many other companies that can offer a similar ownership experience without being so recognisable!
