Thread: First Rolex GMT Batman

I wouldn't worry about the slight marks on the polished centre links - as soon as you remove them, they'll come back - just have it refurbed at service time and enjoy it :)
It's just a matter of time...

Hulk and Batman are same size face on:

Though the profiles are slightly different.

There is no appreciable difference in the size of the Hulk and BLNR.

Except for the depth of the case and case back, plus the extra weight

Hulk is 160 gr and GMT IIC 151 gr and overall thickness is same except GMT has a thicker case but a lower case back where as SUbC has a thicker case back but a slimmer case. I am no princess who can feel a pea under a hundred mattresses and to me the two wear very similar.

You're no princess, but some might be :-)
Is it just the photo, but face on the GMT lugs look ever so slightly narrower, about a 1mm or so?

I'm not sure about the lugs but the crown guards look smaller on the GMT

one day I'll get around to a comparison review. I'll try and cover vital statistics for both with my calipres. May be a few days though.

Well it's been quite a few weeks of owning this watch and I love it. It feels robust, heavy and big without being too OTT. Personally I think it looks good with most things, jeans, suits etc. My poor old Tag hasn't has a look in these days (only when I am out fishing days does the Tag get worn)

Silly things that Rolex users know is the 1/2 link adjustment which I use more that expected, only thing is don't use the dual time zones at all, but heh I think it looks fab

Overall really really pleased with this watch.

    Congratulations, it's a beauty!

I love mine, I think it's the best GMT II available without going vintage or PM.

It's perfect for wearing every day and scratches are just part of the experience, they bothered the hell out of me for a while but I'm (slowly) getting used to it.

    Cheers.

Welcome! To my eyes these look fantastic.

I've got one as my first watch in almost 20 years.

Mines already really scratched but to be honest it's no if deal. Wear it and enjoy it!

The timezone feature does become surprisingly useful too.

That's fantastic. I'm currently on a bit of a quest to find my own but had no luck at ADs around me thus far. Name is down at Goldsmiths, guess I'll have to wait it out! Really lovely though, I hope you get many years of enjoyment from it.

Do you still have the bezel off-set?

International man of Mystery is obviously the answer as why.

I'd ring around a few....I missed one by a day, then only had to wait a few months to get mine. Worth it though 👍

    Looks great, congratulations!

I wear all of my watches regularly and I've just had to accept they will get marked. I'm mostly OK with it now. As for the two marks on my car..........now that's a totally different issue.

If you're not wearing it or a collector putting it in a safe for "a rainy day" I personally don't see the point in having such a nice piece....but each to their own I guess...

I'd cry myself to sleep each and every day if I had to keep mine in a box. To do it of my own volition is unthinkable.

As others have said . . . That is £50 above retail.

I'm more curious about the circumstances around the offer. If it's 'brand new' then is it an AD? If so, you should pay retail. If not . . . Who's offering it??

Very nice - many congratulations. IF and it's a big IF I get another watch then one of these is high up the list. Enjoy.

Been offered that at Dubai duty free, so obviously current exchange rates come into play. But at least it was available.

I really hope not - he'd also be subject to 20% VAT when he lands.

That makes it a lousy price.
