Help me decide whether to buy this watch

I usually don't like threads where people are asking for help making a decision because let's face it, we have our own minds and tastes and shouldn't have to rely on others to make decisions for us. Weak minded fools often springs to mind.

However I'm really torn on this one and could do with some genuine help.

The dial has plenty of colour which sets it aside from my current collection. The bezel is also full of colour and compliments the dial well. It's quartz so super accurate and I wouldn't want to put an automatic movement in something so elegant anyway; it would ruin the slim side profile of the watch. The main sticking point for me is the strap. Although I love the look of it, it's slightly flimsy and I'm not sure it would stand up to the rigours of my job as a male prostitute. So what do we think guys, would you wear this?

Clearly a fake, the cheeks are a shade too rosey on the ginger one

I think it's a winner. Team it up with your pink tutu for maximum impact.

I think that should stay in the safe
    Or it will really depreciate
Also the cheeks will turn redder if used in your line of work . Best to use a tactical Hello Kitty watch for your day job

You need a smaller watch, the age of the clown watch has passed.

Comedy watches are all the rage this season. The strap is in lovely condition and far nicer than some people put on their more expensive watches. Quartz is the way to go, far more accurate that those overrated automatic or mechanical watches.

Sorry the color combo of pink and turquoise don't do it for me, but the design itself is pretty sharp.

I'd only pull the trigger on that bad girl if I could put new shoes on her. Wear her in good health!

Are you buying her for an investment?

I disagree - a great investment now as there's bound to be a sequel soon and this 'classic' will be sought after then.

Prices can only go up - Best watch investment around!

Well as it happens Lewis I've had a bit of inside feedback from a well reputed dealer that these are going to increase massively in value. I'm talking 300% increases which means a potential Ł9 return on investment. His feedback combined with that insightful investment thread is really leaning me toward this watch. The problem is I'd have to put it in the safe and I have a gig with a mother with 8 daughters later who would really like me in this watch. She's a bit rough though and I fear for the strap, which is apparently where the value is on this particular model.

How worrying that you're on first name terms with them... :)

It is a great investment oppurtunity. Before putting down a non-refundable deposit ( make sure you can get it back if you don't buy), do take the back off to look at the movt and the serial # between the lugs. And, don't feel bad about asking. A watch related topic in WT. Nothing wrong with that.

Help me decide whether to buy this watch

Clearly a Chinese fake - Anna and Elsa are the wrong way round, you shouldn't see the lower spring bar and the pushers are laughably wrong- don't touch it.

Let me know if you are interested in a genuine one

Price of these has been frozen for some time now, can only appreciate in value.

Looking at the time stamps that's clearly the very rare GMT version. You'd be mad not to!

I'd like first shout on it if you ever put it on SC, but please give it a quick wipe down with a damp cloth if you've been wearing it at "work" down the docks

Do you think it will have value as a possible investment?
Or would it be just for the Kudos and admiring looks you'll get when you wear it in public????

My daughter has a near identical one and wears it in preference to her collection of vintage Swiss stuff. I can see the value of it going up when I start giving her pocket money...

I fear you are trying to steer me away from a good investment here. I have it on good authority that this is a rare dialled version of which there are only around 2 million in existence.

I wouldn't worry about the strap - I wear mine on a Nato, looks great and really gives it that James Bond feel.

Nah, why ruin a watch of that quality with a bit of old nylon? Got be OEM or nothing on a watch of this quality...

If you really want to wear it for your "work" nothing says I'm a bit of an available slut more than the Elsa on her own version.
This one has the added advantage of a luminous colour change strap so you will always be able to see your wrist in the dark - if you get my drift

If one is serious about getting in on the ground floor of this investment opportunity, don't make the rookie mistake of ever taking it out of the box!

I'm planning on retiring on the profit from these bad boys.

It's iconic, which means that even if you don't like it you should buy it otherwise you're not true-ly a FWIS collector.
...but what do I know; I don't even like watches!

I'd hold out for the solo-Anna version. Elsa is a bŁ$5h.

Are you suggesting that For the First Time in Forever you are staring such a thread?

This one looks like a bit of a Fixer Upper.

When will you be "taking delivery" of your "latest acquisition" that you "purchased" from your "supplier" then :)
