    Crete Holiday Recommendations

    Hello folks,

Looking for some recommendations for Crete beach resorts.

Looking to do a 5ish day stint in July/August at an all inclusive resort by myself to escape from work for a bit.

The dream is to sit by the pool/beach for the week with a book/iPad in the sun, drinking and eating my worries away. Also looking for the customary spa facilities too.

Budget is fairly flexible and want somewhere I don’t have to worry about the small things.

    Anyone recommend a good hotel/location?

For reference I’m 27, work 70+ hours a week in an office so can’t stress enough how little I want to move and the importance of relaxing.

    Hey Qwerty,

Was in a similar situation to you a few years back. Went to Macaris suites in Rethymnon. The hotel is pretty good, nothing too special but food and pool was very good. Believe I managed to tackle The Brothers Karamazov in the week I was there.

Rethymnon is amazing for if you want to venture out of the hotel a bit - a short but lovely walk round the castle each evening along the coast to the town for dinner and drinks!

    Any questions, let me know.

We're staying near Maleme Village in mid August. I'd love to eat at your cousins place, it looks lovely.

Can he help me sort out some car hire.!? I'm struggling to get a decent price!

Car Hire is expensive in the summer in Greece…. I had to hunt high and low to get anything reasonable…. I finally used this lot. http://www.autoescape.co.uk
