Same birth year as me. What was your budget? I've never understood the birth year thing but my last tt datejust was 1987 by chance.
I have been thinking of adding another watch to the collection, something that can be worn everyday.
Its relatively new to me with birth year watches, so i have been looking at some.
The Tag 972.606 has caught my eye, being a diver style but quite compact at 38mm which is ideal for my smallish wrists. It also seems quite good value at around £200-£300 odd.
I quite like the textured blue dial

Any comments on these watches, or anything else similar or interesting from £1987?

Budget is really only around £200-£300 maybe a little more. I've spent a lot on my AT Quartz which I love, but would like something a little less precious for everyday wear.
My wife has a very similar TAG, more like '91, that I bought her about 3 years ago for c£300. She wears it every day and the case and strap seem to resist every mark, still looks very fresh.
I think that TAG is quite nice, so if it's in budget, go for it.
Shame they don't make anything affordable that good looking these days!

Breitling Cosmonaute 809 - What's not to like?
As i know nothing about these watches, are these late '80s Series 2000 watches reliable/easy to repair?
Would just have to find one now.....
1987 great album by Whitesnake!
The Tag is nice, I own a Heuer 2000 which is very similar, if you can get one for your budget then go for it.
They tend to be reliable but I think with the quartz if its broken then it will require a new module.
Very nice watch for the money!
Go for it. My birthyear dream is just that...for now! I need to stop buying things and save :)
