    Wheel refurb recommendations

Ive had a set of wheels refurbed. It's an ok job but not the best so I'm looking for somewhere Yorkshire based who will do a really good job.
I've had metal magic at Barnsley mentioned. Are there any other suggestions based on experience and quality

If you can get to leeds, I've had a few sets done by these people, acid strip, media blast, powder coat, bake, powder coat colour coat, bake, clear powder coat, bake etc. The wheels are like 100% new and I'm a fussy bugger.

Only one one thing to bear in mind. As they're not wet sprayed, the finish isn't bling shiny, there is flake in the paint of course but the powder coat very slightly dulls it.

Still wouldnt stop stop me using them, just ask for a lot of metallic flake.

A powder coat finish is more resilient than a clear coat as well.

I wouldn't waste my money on the monkeys that deflate the tyre, break the bead, mask the wheel (if you're lucky) and spray. Won't last, and looks sh!te

Depending what you drive, Chris Weaver of EXEL Wheels will come to your house, put a spare set of wheels on your car and return your originals, refinished, usually within the week. (He also sells tyres.)

He's very popular with Porsche owners - he did mine - but does other makes, too.

This is not much help I'm afraid, but a few years back had a set of Jaguar cross spoke alloys refurbished by a bloke just off junction 39 at Criggleston, he worked out of his garage and they were brilliant, web search may bring some result.

Exel wheels use Lepsons so the work is spot on.

A couple of things to look out for in my experience:

Having 5 wheels done rather than 4 seems to cause problems, I don't know if there's some part of the process where 4 are done at once and they have to wait for 3 more odd ones?

Some refurbishers just do the front of the wheel. As that's the only bit you can see. Of course most alloys you can see through to the back.

I've used chris at exel wheels and wouldn't hesitate to use again. Lepsons do a proper job (check their website ) and this is where they're done
also does a great price on new tyres (for me it was 30% cheaper than black circles)

Some of these cheapo powdercoating places come out with some dreadful finishes.
I just get them blasted now, etch primered and painted properly so I know it's going to be right first time.
