Wow, groundbreaker indeed.
Was only listening to Starman whilst watching The Martian the other day.
Heroes
Space oddity
Suffragette city
Life on mars
Ziggy stardust
Fame
The man who sold the world
Changes
Modern love
Other?
One of my fave artists, groundbreaking.
"We can be heroes, just for one day"
Rip Ziggy.
Cancer aged 69.
Wow, groundbreaker indeed.
Was only listening to Starman whilst watching The Martian the other day.
Wasn't expecting to wake up to that!
Shocked.
RIP

Shocking
Only yesterday we talked about the Ziggy Stardust album.
RIP, you have been one of my heroes.
A very talented man.
RIP
A shock, didn't even know he was suffering with cancer.
A bit of a shocker that!
RIP
Just heard on the radio, how sad. What a creative legacy, what a man. RIP
Absolutely hammered to hear this this morning. Not only an icon but a gent too.
Goodnight to the thin white Duke.
A supremely talented songwriter who still seemed keen to inovate as time went on and not to rest on his laurels.
There may be Bowie tracks you don't like as much as others, but you'd always be able to hear a man exploring the boundaries of his art.
Absolutely gutted, a talented man RIP David
First Lemmy, now this...
Im finding it hard to process this. Didn't even know he was ill.
Gutted.
Like everyone I knew the hits but I have just begun exploring his back catalogue. A supremely talented artist who will be much missed.
RIP Bowie.
So sad, his music had a large influence on me in my youth. RIP Bowie
Quite unreal. His music is woven through the fabric of my own life. Reinvented his art brilliantly time and again. Absolutely in a category of his own.
This tribute struck a chord...
Very sad and shocking news, like many others I didn't know he was ill.
RIP.
I was never a really a fan of his music but i was just saying to the Mrs the other day how cool he was.
Even in later years he just oozed a certain style and coolness.
RIP Dave.
Far too often is the term "artist" banded around in the musical fraternity, but Bowie was one of the few REAL artists left.
Such sad sad news,
RIP Starman.
Quite shocked and saddened to hear this.
Such a versatile artist.

Ignorance breeds Fear. Fear breeds Hatred. Hatred breeds Ignorance. Break the chain.
Shocking news.
Even effected my 2 little girls who watch him in Labyrinth all the time
So weird, just listened to his new/latest album last night for the first time and thought 'he's still got it'................... So so sad.
The first time I've replied to one of this type of thread.
One of the all time greats in my opinion.
My favourite album are:
Scary Monsters and Super Creeps
Let's Dance
He was truly unique.
RIP David!
Thanks for the memories!
jeff
I never managed to get the whole Bowie phenomenon but he's was a hugely talented musician and a great influence on many others.
A sad loss.
So sad to hear.
paul.
First heard this at 5 to 7 this morning but I still can't quite believe it.
When the icons of your youth start going you start to realise that it really will happen to you as well.
:( RIP
A true artist. R.I.P.
A shame - and could have still been so influential in the future.
A truly talented artist who has been the only musician that I have always listened to - the others have come and gone. My youngest was even born to "the Man Who Sold the World" as a complete coincidence with the surgeon's music in the theatre.
RIP Starman
RIP, a great talent, very sad indeed.
Very Sad. Lemmy and now David.
I am gutted cannot get my head round it yet
Shocking news to wake up to today, particularly as he released a new album only last week.
I bought his new album on Friday on vinyl and have been playing it all weekend - a dark album with added poignancy now.
RIP Mr Bowie - we can be heroes!
Absolutely shocked when my youngest son told me this morning.
He was a bit shaken up being a huge Bowie fan like his old man.
Can't believe that he has gone.
RIP David.
"Ziggy played guitar"
Cheers,
Neil.
Sat in the traffic listening to my youth being played back at me through Bowie.
What a legacy he's left, so original a complete one off.
Adios Major Tom
So sad, I was only looking at a picture of him last week and thinking how youthful he still looked at 69 and how well he was aging
He'll live on forever in his music.
Sad news indeed.
RIP.
David Baddiel on twitter puts it well:
"Not just upset by Bowie's death but disorientated: like I've woken up and the world is out of joint. I think I assumed he was immortal."
Not often I turn on the radio and am shocked by what I hear. Very sad news, his music was always around when I was growing up.
He was one of my favourite musicians - a true icon, an innovator, and someone who will always be in fashion.
RIP David Bowie.
Legend.
gutted when I heard this. Very much part of my life.
First record I ever bought was "Ashes to Ashes". Saw him live on his Glass Spider, Sound & Vision and Earthling tours. The Bowie exhibition at the V&A was amazing. So glad I went to that
RIP David
