    Polish made watches overview.

    Hi Guys,
I've done the same thread on the other forum inspired by discussion about polish watches and decide also to
show here some of Polish made watches.
Everybody know G.Gerlach watches and some people around here own Gerlach watches but
there are a couple of more interesting brands.
Here is a concise overview of polish watch brands: ( thera are not all of them but I would like to focus on the brands created by watch enthusiast for watch enthusiast)

    1. Chronos-Art
This is my favourite brand made by real passionate of watches mr. Pawel Jankowski.
Chronos-art watches are real examples of art of watchmaking.
Unfortunately Chronos-Art due to personal problems suspended or even disbanded his activity.
Here are a couple of examples of Chronos-Art watches.

    2. G.Gerlach
G.Gerlach was created by couple of lads, watch enthusiast from polish watch forum
They made a fundation to help to promote the Polish technical innovation and help Polish designs come to life.
They also want to support Polish engineers, technicians,
specialists in design and ergonomy and help them put their ideas into production.
All G. Gerlach watches are dedicated to historical polish constructions (planes, ships, tanks).

    3. Xicorr watches
The Xicorr is another brand which has arisen from fascination with precise devices of everyday use made for time.
They love souls of watches, their mechanisms, sound made by them and a useful beauty.
Their watches are dedicated to polish cars and bikes.

    4. Vratislavia
Anothr brand created by watch enthusiasts.
The name Vratislavia is inspired by the city where they live and create.
The city that they love, and they want to promote in the world.

I own a G. Gerlach Otago (and would like a 303 Squadron given half a chance), and had been toying with a Vratislava. There are a few names there I've not seen before so thanks for taking the time to post.

Some very handsome watches there. I particularly like the Vratislava chrono. What are they like price-wise?

These are the only listed distributor on the Vratislava website with prices in Polish Zloty.

Can't seem to find what the movement is though.

Where did you purchase the Vratislavas out of interest?

The simplest model ''deja vu'' was over 1000£
    Regulateur was over. 2000£
But You was able to customize the watch(dial, case back, strap, box, engraving) so prices wasn't always the same and was dependant from changes You've done.

Unfortunately as I said before due to personal problems they've suspended or even disbanded their activity.

Very reasonable prices indeed from what I can see.

You can get the Vratislava chrono direct from their website, just contact them via their order form, although they are in very limited supply. I have just got the blue version and it is simply lovely.

    http://vratislavia-watches.com/?page_id=7

I did contact them today funnily enough about getting the grey version and they still have some left. Beautifully made for the money, comes in at less than £130 which is great for the price

Can't seem to find what the movement is though.
The movement in the first series was a Citizen OS20, with the running seconds subdial eliminated. It appears they have possibly gone to a different movement in Series 3?

Here's mine. You'll notice the 3 o'clock subdial is a 24 hour dial. Series 3 has a running seconds sub dial at that position.

Pav, thankyou for the thread :)

My partner comes from Wroclaw, where I believe the Vratislava chrono is produced.

I was over there just before Christmas and was showing their website, to some other like minded watch nerds of this watch, which incidentally was mentioned in another thread earlier this month.

In fact she is still in Wroclaw, so I have asked if she is able to get one, before returning back to the UK next week :)

Hi Pav, do you have any more info on the Xicorr 'bullhead'. Love the crown arrangement and case shape, but cant find any info on that model on their website?

That isn't available yet. It's just a prototype.
They would like to introduce it for sale in 2016.

Some nice watches there. Also interesting seeing so many members with Polish connections on the other thread. My better half is from reasonably close to Torun (Grudziadz).

It is assembled in Wroclaw and you can buy through their website only as far as i know. Blue and grey are still available. The quality is very good, comparing to the price.

The blue version looks very nice indeed! I have just sent them a message via the "Contact" page to ask about ordering, based on your comments here.

Very interesting read, thanks very much to the OP.
I have Gerlach Sokol 1000 that is fantastic value for money (in my opinion) but I was not aware of Vratislavia watches, they look really nice.

Believe it or not, it was supplied on an Alpha Paul Newman I bought a few years back. Checking their website just now, it doesn't appear that they have it listed for sale separately, but you might shoot them an email - you never know.

    Great picture.

In the end after seeing lots of pictures here http://forums.watchuseek.com/f71/vra...o-1556858.html I changed my mind and I have opted for the blue.

Need a chrono for the collection.

They are(Chronos art) using a Unitas 64-98 movements so I think they keep time the same well like the other watches with this movement.

I have been in email contact with a gent called Marcin, who I think is one of the co-founders. He said that I could arrange to collect the watch. But they don't have a shop but work from home. Which for me is makes it sound even better. :)

I am thinking of going for this one instead of my initial thoughts the Heritage 3 as that has a quartz movement whereas the Formmiester has an automatic movement, namely the Miyota 9130.

Marcin, went onto say that they get a lot of interest from the UK. I did mention to him about the two recent threads on this very forum :)

Some great watches coming out of Poland, especially for those of us with smaller budgets.

I'm waiting on a grey vc heritage chrono. Been waiting about 4 months now, hopefully it'll be in the second batch posted. Also considering a white Gerlach enigma as I fancy a watch with the mechaquartz movement.

Terrific thread, thanks for posting those images and links, several very attractive options there but, as you say, shame about Chronis-art, very elegant looking watches from the look of them. But will definitely be looking now at the other links.

Yes, I've exchanged a few emails too with Marcin over the last few days since I found out about this company. Seems a decent chap. I weakened and ordered a blue Heritage Chrono and the dark blue Formmeister! I do like a blue watch. :-) Hope I won't regret it as a hasty decision. I asked him to hold on to the Heritage until the Formmeister is ready in February and send them both together. I'll post some photos and first impressions when they arrive.

I forgot to post a photo of the Heritage Chrono when it arrived.

It's now on the mesh as you see, but I may soon put it back on the strap it came with as it was supremely comfortable and suited the watch well.

As for the quality, I have no complaints. It seems well finished and in my view is decent value for what it cost. The best endorsement I can give is that I've ordered another, the Chrono version 6 with double-domed sapphire (available July/August) below -
