    New Citizen dive watches

Spotted these today. Featuring a "Luminor" crown, £850 with Citizen/Mioyta's 9012 calibre. They've been out over a year but I don't recall seeing them in the high street until now.

Couple more pictures from a well known shop in Tokyo ( where they sell, tax included, for £720 ) :

Saw this one recently at that shop and thought it a bit unbalanced with the massive crown. The rest looked good, albeit large ( listed as 45mm in the shop ).

Lose the massive crown / guard, make it in 40 - 42mm and I'm in.

    The crown does look OTT.

I'm starting to like the rest of the watch. £720 makes it worth considering. I wonder if the little recessed red minute markers move round with the bezle, that would be quite nifty!

I have the Grand Touring NB0070-57E which is the black faced one on the right hand side of the OP's pic that you can only see half of. Although mine is the bracelet version.

It's a really well finished watch & although big ( 44mm from memory I think ) it's not too high & sits fairly flat on the wrist. They have a Miyota 9010 movement which I think is just a version of the 9015 which they only put in Citizen watches IIRC. Mine is very accurate.

I picked one up second-half but just couldn't live with the comedy crown

These are dire, I'd sooner have one of there older basic dive models which have a lot of going for them in the looks department.

9010/11 are the bespoke finished/decorated movement for Citizen’s own watches, the 9015 is the generic one they’ll sell to 3rd party manufacturers.

Every mention I've ever read of an individual 9010 has talked about its very pleasing accuracy.

Crown is definitely an issue, and a black date wheel,on a blue dial is a complete no (you are not Omega, and those fuppers got it wrong too!!) no, imho.
It's just a matter of time...

they use this case without the giant crown for a couple of other watches, I'll try and find a picture...

How so ? If it's a Panerai, it causes a knees meltdown round here ??

It could well be that there isn't a single person controlling all the accounts and different people think different things?

    No, no, no.

From the photo advert to the actual watches themselves they are just wrong, so many hints from other designs which Citizen did not and do not need to do.
