Sorry, not for me... looks like a Glycine Combat Sub now (which, I happen to like, so would buy one of them instead).
Kudos for doing something different though.
Well, not exactly a Kermit but close enough.
Rolex mods are generally frowned upon here and with good reason as most of them are ghastly and obviously it rules future service by RSC.
Regardless, found one modded Rolex Sub that I liked quite a bit and ended up buying.
This started life as a 14060 but a few mods were done
The case and bezel were DLCed
The second hand was painted green
The bezel insert was swapped for a green one
A couple of quick pics.
lets see what the jury thinks.
I quite like it and still has enough of Rolex and IMO is tastefully done

Gorrie,
It does and it doesn't.
Let me put it this way- it looks as much like the watch in your pic as the normal 14060 looks like a SS Glycone combat Sub.
Fair point...
I guess the mods just immediately made me think Glycine. Like I say, I applaud you for going a bit different but this one is not for me (I don't like marmite either).
I'm not against modifications... I really liked the Speedy MkII which was sold here a few months ago that had been DLC'd and had yellow handset. Plenty others probably didn't like that.
There’s a huge difference between modding a Rolex and cobbling something together to look like one...
You know me though - I’m honest - I hate the second hand.
Bloomin' awful.
But then I hate the kermit anyway.
If it floats your boat that's all that really matters :)
I secretly wouldnt mind matte black dlc sub/sd
Always going to be a brave move to mod a Rolex, but why not !
I do like the look of a sub pvd,d or whatever it is, good on you
I think it looks okay.
It has been done tastefully though so that's good.
I like it, well done, I especially like the second hand, but the purists will hate it.
I'm not sure your photos do it justice Raj, they are a bit 'bright' or something, maybe I've seen too many of Tony's 😊
Cheers..
Jase
Agree with Jason, some better pics would probably show it off in a much better way.
I like the Kermit anyway, and DLC is probably OK.
That seconds hand does look a bit odd though, perhaps too light a colour?
Not my cuppa, but if you like it fair enough.
Can it only be worn on a strap now or was the bracelet done?

Wanted - Damasko DC57
Hate the look on a DLC bracelet. So, only strap
1st four words in your last sentence....."I quite like it".
Is enough.....isn't it?.
What others think matters NOT.
Saw this one myself and was tempted.Be interested to see it in the flesh.DLC And a olive nato always look good to me.If the finishing is good quality then i say well done.
I am not a fan of Rolex green bezels so it's hard for me to get past that, but when I do there's a green seconds hand that I don't like equally as much. The DLC finish looks a bit shiny too... and I prefer bracelets.
On balance I do believe I don't like it much :-)
Gray
No, no, and thrice, no.
Not terrible, but what really irks me is that the seconds hand looks a different colour to the bezel. I know the finish will be different but the colour!
And the comments saying how this echoes Glycine are absolutely correct. Not that thats a bad thing...
For someone like you with a large collection it is a good choice and I like the concept, but I'd like to see the pvd finish close up to see how it is in real life.
Hmm, I like something dfferent but I have never been a fan of the kermit bezel (the Hulk ceramic one though - oh yes). I do like the DLC though.
Jesus wept…no, seriously, he did.
What on Earth were you thinking Raj?
It's not my taste Raj, but there is something about modified submariners that I do like, I'm not sure why, but something about sticking two fingers up I suspect.
There was a SubC on here a while ago with a matted bezel that I particularly liked.
Leave Rolex to get it right as they have done for years and if you don't like them buy another brand or model, theres a perfect watch or two out there for everyone
RIAC
Am not sure what you are getting at here.
This is certainly not my only Rolex or my only Submariner.
The reason behind the mod is not that one is not happy with the original.just something different and novel.
I can understand that it may not be for you which is fine.
I like it. Looks great on the wrist and certainly makes it your own.
It looks far better in the wrist shot photo than in the first two.
Fair play for being different.
