I purchased more expensive watches in the last year, but nothing provided more satisfaction than this Seiko "5", which I modded to look like a Citizen quartz watch from the 80s (I think Citizen has reissued this model recently as well). Finding all the parts and doing all the work myself makes for a special bond with the watch.

Despite buying quite a few shiny toys this year, I seem to keep coming back to this:

Blackbay on this strap I thought was sublime.

This UJS for me. I think those with Dornbluths, Journes, and other small independents would understand the appeal.

My rate fo churn has changed a lot int he 6 years I've been here. Had this one for 6 months now and it's been my most worn this year.

Probably had more pound for pound value and use out of my Smiths PRS-36 this year, so that's where my vote goes.

Favourite watch of 2015? Well I bought my first luxury watch this year in the form of a Longines HydroConquest 41mm Automatic. It was a very proud moment for me but it was also kind of expensive (for me) so it might be my favourite watch of 2016 as well!

  20. #20
I bought this in the summer, and it's rarely been off my wrist. Now, if I could just find the perfect strap...

How often do you wear that beauty?

Tough question. On balance, though, I think this has been my favourite. It literally makes me smile, anyway.

It has been my Smiths Everest. I bought it new in 2011 but just this year found a bracelet I can use with it which gives it the title of My Watch of 2015:

There have been a few highlights but like TakesALickin, my favourite is the one that involved a bit more personal thought and effort than usual.

I got this in a trade back in August and it's hardly been off my wrist. The size and weight are perfect for me and I even love the rattly bracelet!

I got this as a surprise anniversary gift from the Mrs, I haven't had it off yet. Definitely a real favourite.

This Skyliner from 1968 arrived at the start of the year. Both in original spec and in current condition is its a good step or two up from my battered old Seikos, so it felt like a real treat when I got it, and the pleasure I get from it hasn't faded at all. Part of my regular rotation, it gets plenty of wear.

I've already managed to add a couple of tiny but visible dings to it, but never mind ;)
