Bought one of these... it's either the bargain of the year or something truly awful will turn up!

If it's right, it's the bargain of the year!

marchingontogether!
The list of previously sold items isn't excessively horological ;)
eg "JVC Boombox"
I know, the odds are definitely stacked against it being the real thing... worth a punt though as eBay/Paypal buyer protection is great when things are not as described.
The picture appears to be nicked from another eBay listing, so I hope it turns out ok...
Same photo as on this listing...

I'll be sure to report back once it turns up! Estimated arrival date is 1st Jan...
If it seems too good to be true, it usually is.
Maybe you will be lucky though?
Interested to see what turns up.
The seller had a job lot: "10 sold".
You've been had, I'm afraid.
Although, with PayPal backing up buyers, how does the seller hope to get away with it? Hoping one of the 10 pay with a non-recoverable method? Or one or two buyers just accept they've been done over?
Hacked eBay and Paypal accounts, someone (likely not UK-based) after a bit of free money for Christmas courtesy of people who don't see the massive 'Too Good To Be True' neon lights flashing around this auction. You'll hopefully get your money back easily though eventually.

Hacked ebay and paypal accounts. They'll withdraw the money as soon as it hits the paypal account and be quids in. eBay/ paypal will potentially have to cover this loss, but they will likely try and get the legit owner of the paypal account to stand the loss initially I expect.
Sometimes what happens is a 'friend' uses an account to sell something with the account holder withdrawing the money only for the friend to disappear.
The account holder is then faced with a case and wondering why they have to pay the money back...
Other times it's simply to get some cash, PayPal will force a refund eventually and the account holder has to pay it back, eventually... Temporary loan interest free. :-\
As for hacked PayPal accounts, well that's quite rare they would be used to sell.
As far as unrecoverable funds, well that only really is the case when a personal payment is sent from a PayPal balance. No recourse with the external funding source. Also of course if the payment is not personal but is a goods payment for an item that isn't covered by buyer protection. Like a car or a custom made item.

Based on what these normally sell for it is too good. On the the other hand, the price normally charged just seems to be too bad.
EBay listing has been removed?
Got an email from eBay over the weekend saying that the sellers account had been "compromised"... :)
They have cancelled the sale and apparently I'll have the funds back within 48 hours. Can't really fault that for buyer protection.
Lesson learned!
Well if you would rather buy a car with the money mate...
Pleased you got it sorted though good to hear
Cheers
