Help a newbie, Seiko SRP653/655?

Hello folks, I'm very close to pulling the trigger on anew Seiko either the 653 or 655. I'm just wondering though if anybody knows what the shroud is made of? I was under the impression they were some sort of coated stainless steel, but I may be wrong.

Here's where I'm considering buying so would to know. I have fired them an email and they replied with "I don't know"

I saw one of these in the flesh recently. I don't remember thinking shit, that's plastic. So I guess it must be steel.
