snap - same for me on perlon though for me.
Love it.
Loving my quartz Scurfa beater. Rubber strap, suits my gym and swim routine. Comes with a ceramic bezel, so is also a little harder to scratch!

although now on resin, have swapped the bracelet from this BC to a brand new 1ER for casual wear.
CWC quartz diver - my favourite beater. Remarkably accurate, more so than my “high end” Seiko quartz diver, and as it has no date it only gets set when the clocks change:
My Traser Unterwasser gets worn to the gym and when I go fishing, so I guess that counts as a beater
Best Regards - Peter
I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.
Pair of Seiko 7000-8000s, one charcoal gray sunburst on a black strap, one white brushed on a custom made brown strap. Both bought on ebay for next to nothing and then given a cheap service. Design clearly aware of the dials of the Oyster Perpetual which were current around the time they were made, which was 1971
Both of them have hard a hard life going by some of the scars, but are still working without problem. They might not look like your typical beater but their hearts are still beating after taking their beatings so.....

Covered in paint, sweat and dust
I love my Casio almost as much as my explorer as my daughter bought it for me, I think they are a great value watch, it's been abroad a good few times, pool and sea, still looks fresh...
I don't have a beater currently, my old one stopped working and it's not worth the repair bill
If the going is really tough Casio gw 5610 otherwise smiths PRS 29a
16600 on a perlon is what I normally wear to work in a garage.
This is the one I have on the most so it must be my beater.
I wear my Sub C all day every day.
Only take it off if I am doing something which is very likely to dink it and I have a G Shock DW5600 and various older, cheaper watches I can wear in that situation.
With few exceptions, I wear all my watches irrespective of my activities, but if a real possibility of damage existed and I didn't feel like donning one of my G-Shocks (really, the best option in the beater category), I'd reach for this:
Dead nuts accurate (seriously, like SuperQuartz-accurate), solar-powered, certified 200M diver, looks great and cost me $160 used in near-mint condition. What's not to love?

Adam
Longines Hydroconquest 41mm auto!
G shock GW2500, has n't let me down in four years of abuse at work.
Seiko Monster II. Stands up to all the bangs and scrapes of construction.
Just me and my SubC. We go everywhere together :-)
For many years a Sub, then an Omega SMP, And now a Steinhart OVGMT.
The orignals (and far too many others I blaim this forum for) remain safe for 'best' or for a mood change.
I bought it new from the TAG outlet wore it for a year or so on holidays, sold it to The Ripper, then eventually bought it back off him & it just hasnt felt the same since. Plus I havent been on a holiday since buying it back, so it's not even been worn. But it's one I'd like to keep :-)
Jocke that datejust looks brilliant.
:) same here. I love to see the well loved watch like this. And it has to be said Rolex and Seiko, with Casio coming along in the mix are watches that can take near daft levels of abuse and keep on going*.
Thinking about what my beaters are, I'd have to say and silly it may appear, as far as wrist time down the years and situations this would be it.
OK, no way is it in play when water is involved(though a couple of times I have worn it fishing. And wading. :s Yep, stupid), but it's been up hill and down dale, been on my wrist in a few countries and climates and I've come off a bike(push) wearing it and it flew off my wrist, but save for a busted crystal - it's had a few - it just kept and keeps on going. Scarily accurately too. And a year away from the century score.
If I know things are about to get a little wetter, then this.
Passed its last depth test with flying colours.
*It's one reason why they're the three brands I usually recommend to non watch nutter friends and family who ask. With the Speedie for those who like extra buttons.
I have half a dozen beaters, otherwise how the dickens could they flush any pheasants?
Does that say COMEX on it.........respect and shock registering here, both at the same time!
My other regular beater, Colt GMT on rubber. Solid as a rock :)
Just in case all the seriously nice watches in extreme situations were making anyone nervous, here is a humble beater in a non-threatening environment - the milsub/omega 300 design cue makes it feel like an appropriate beater!
Seiko BFK
Proper order. :) To see D O'S' Comex worn like that is to me so much better than to see one in a safe deposit box, a drawer queen(™). Yes it's great to have a few like that preserved for the future, but great to see one being used as an actual daily timepiece. Not nearly so rarified, but I remember my dad of a weekend morning fiddling under the family car's bonnet wearing his 50's Patek Calatrava, so that pic has resonance for me.
Wear this mostly days.
