Afternoon all,
I am after some advice on USB powered (or other) headphone amps/DAC. I am reading up on the Audioquest Dragonfly v1.2 which seems to be pretty great.
Some interesting reviews out there concerning Fiio build quality which i know is a favoured brand on this forum.
I would prefer something fairly small and ideally towards the cheaper end of the spectrum.
I use a Macbook Pro, iTunes and some Roland monitor headphones or Shure IEMs.
Thanks!

If you are interested I have a brand new DAC MagicXS available, I ended up with 2 and currently use one for my Sennheiser HD650 through my mac, they are great for sure!
I use FiiO and have had no issues. They offer several options and have a good selection on Amazon.
I bought mine via the thread below:

The Halide Design DAC HD might be worth considering, as a better sounding alternative to the Audioquest Dragonfly.

Not got a headphone amp per se but do use a Spitfire DAC from http://www.firestone-audio.eu/shop/products/index.php makes a world of difference to my ears. Picked up from Ebay.
I have a Cambridge Audio DACMagic XS. Got it in a Richers sale for £80 last Christmas. Really impressed for the price and size.
Maplin, £35. Very little different to 'serious' DACs.

That Maplin jobby looks very plasticky and cumbersome. I've got myself a DacMagic XS which is like a tiny aluminium box of matches.
It's certainly plasticky, but it takes stereo RCA, optical, coaxial, usb, headphone jack - and it's £35.
DACMagic now £49 while stocks last at Richer Sounds. Billy bargain!!
I have an Oppo HA-2 and am thrilled with it. It's a thing of beauty too
Ray Samuels audio hornet or tomahawk. Superb!
