    No date watch options

    Good morning all

I have been searching what options are out there for auto no date watches in the 40-42mm region (something that can be worn for work and casual use). The ones I have seen so far:

    - Rolex have a few that I like the look of with the 39mm OP, Explorer, 40mm Milgauss and the No date Sub.

    - Omega Seamaster 300 Coaxial

    - Tudor Black bay (plus red and blue versions).

    Any others worth considering?

Everest. One of my all-time favourite no date watches. Need to move it away from the OEM bracelet though (in my view), as it makes the watch too l o n g.

Also looks great on NATO and leather.

Speedy Pro, of course, if you can consider a manual.

Thanks very much, not that my photography skills do it justice. I haven't worn it in quite a while and getting it out just now reminded me how nice it is

It's a shame more watches are not made without a date as I am really not a fan. I love a nice clean looking symmetric dial.

I have a Davosa Ternos Diver Professional no date up for sale in SC.

With it's ceramic Bezel and no date - I really think it ticks your requirements :)

I'd like to see more watches without a date, as I can't see it anyway, and I think the dial looks cleaner, oh and I hate a cyclops

End of line 14060m is the only choice imo, after a 16610, 16613, 114060 and 16610lv I have finally seen the light!!

I think a trip to the Rolex boutique is in order to try all their lovely watches on and hopefully one of them will talk to me...

Another vote for the Railmaster here, great watches but now discontinued so can be hard to find.

I'd also highly recommend the Longines Legend Diver, though again the no date model has been discontinued so can also be hard to find.

You can't go very wrong with a Tudor BB in my view

    Here is mine:

(*cough* although mine is currently in the 'shop under warranty as it was running about 20s a day fast. From my googling this is very unusual so I took it in for a look over)

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked the Tudor Ranger in person. I expected it to be plain and over-sized but I found it handsome, perfectly sized and supremely comfortable on the wrist.

    (not my photo or watch)

Edit: A flieger also works, this is a 40mm Stowa

OP has your decision become any easier with all these suggestions?

SubC ND is the best choice if your budget allows it.

The pre-"clumsy" Non-date Submariner - is still the one to beat in my opinion (and I don't wear one).

They are perfectly-proportioned, and have a classy look

    You won't go wrong

Seeing as this thread was started over a year ago, I'd hope the OP has found his ideal watch by now.

What do you mean options? There are no options - it's a Sub ;)
It's just a matter of time...

Carl, you are a man of very good taste...

Can't complain at the '82 either.

I appreciate the appearance and simplicity of a no-date dial, however it appears to me that unless the watch is from a brand fitting their own in-house movement or modifying bought in movements and removing the date complication prior to assembly then most if not all perhaps lower tier brands are using movements that in normal form do feature the date complication. It seems highly improbable that at lower price points, and especially where no modification work has been made to the movement, that they would bother to remove the date wheel and works.

This then leads to my OCD (as JasonM once put it, quite rightly) that the dial is simply obscuring a date that in all likelihood is wrong, almost always (mathematicians might be able to work out the occurrence, but that's beside the point). And that, dear reader, is not something that I could cope with.

    I agree

I dont like the thought of a date wheel spinning away under the dial - it makes the watch a kind of simulation to me. Ive had a couple of Seiko's with Yobokies non date dials fitted and I was never really happy with them for this reason

  43. #43
It's funny you should mention Seiko mods, as while I was typing that was one of the mental images that was coming to mind!

edit: trying to find a watch without date led me to look at the Vostok 2415, which got me thinking that if they could take the base calibre 2416 and offer without date (as per the 2415) it would be good were Seiko, Miyota or Time Module/Sii to do same.
