Then copy the hotlink to forum (1) and paste into the narrartive box on here - works fine.

All examples of great looking watches, the date versions always have the edge for me.

What a great examples are posted here. I had a Expl II which I traded for a GMT Master II. Very nice watch and I'm completely hooked to changing the insert thus giving the watch a complete new look. I got a faded insert from a friend in a deal to make some pictures of a few of the watches in his collection. Thought I share this here too with you.

So tempted to track down another 16750 GMT - but I've told myself too many times that I won't buy another small/thin crown Rolex. We will see.
It's just a matter of time...

  17. #117
I'm just glad I'm no longer into vintage watches, or I'd probably be homeless.

You can't have too many Subs or SD's though ;)

Someone will be along to tell me otherwise but I believe it is the matt dialled MK1 Maxi. I wish I had the photographic talent of some of the chaps on here to capture to lume colour.

People outside just don't get it! "Why would you want an old one when..."

I would look after them because anything vintage and with Rolex on the dial seems to be going through the roof at the Geneva Auction, could be a bit of auction fever I suppose but the prices are frightening!!

Aye, I didn't know the earlier models didn't have the wonky seconds hand you see on the current models. Every day's a school day....

I'm going to with pre-comex then, you can see the subtle differences between our watches, fat cornet, '=' slightly to the left of the 'A'. Not that any of this really adds anything from what I can tell.

No they are the same size,
They both have a 40mm case, the lugs on the sub are slightly thicker giving the illusion it's a larger watch. I think the bezel on the sub gives the impression its larger too
