yes Lee, its having a lot of yoyo time at present back and forth from the safe. I find the Hulk too "light" and always thought the Omega SS PO 45.5 was great (even though it is like lifting a dumbbell), but since the SD43 has landed I'm realising that the PO isn't as good as I thought and would consider selling it and using the SD43 as a daily. Id say its the perfect balance or weight, presence and certainly wouldn't consider parting with it.

This was the watch that got me into the Rolex brand, and indeed Swiss watches. It's my Dad's 1002. He bought it with proceeds from a decent night in a Gibraltar casino in 1970. I used sneak it out to wear it to school!
He loved the purple and grey face but hated cyclops, hence this.
It's promised to me when he goes, and as such is the one watch I never want to own.

This is the first Rolex I bought. Back in 2003 nobody cared about the size and I preferred the dial to the equivalent 36mm Datejust. It pretty much sat on my wrist through the next 12 years and was present during engagement, marriage and births of my two children.
By modern standards it now wears a bit small, but based on sentiment alone, I'd never sell it!
In 2015 my 15200 was in for its second service. I got talking to the boys at Goldsmiths in Reading about what would be a good buy. They proceeded to wax lyrical about the stainless steel Rolex Daytona.
I said I was interested, could they get me one, at which point I was hit with the waiting list!
Anyway as luck would have it I found not one, but two, one white, one black, in Schipol airport. I bought both and sold the black one to my CEO (at cost). I liked the watch, I liked the history and it's really grown on me.
I'd be lying if I didn't say I knew I could always make a few quid on it and that did influence the original decision as I knew I could buy it and move it on if I didn't like it. However as time has gone on I've really grown to love it and it was a daily wearer for a year.
The trouble with Rolex watches is once you start getting into them, it is difficult to stop! I really liked the idea of the GMT Master as I travel a fair bit. I'd made up my mind to get a GMTc but loved the simplicity of the 16710 and felt they were undervalued. As a result I bought my first investment piece.
Now the rules about investments are to buy well and not get emotionally attached. Well one out of two ain't bad!
This is a 2002 full set with 2x RSC services. It started out life as a Coke according to the hang tags but is now sporting the sensational Pepsi bezel.
I had it sized so I can wind it and wear it once a month so it stays in good nick. The difference in my 5 digit vs 6 digit is simply around the bracelets and the heft.
Going to hang on to it for a good few years, especially as my daughter has now declared it her dream watch!
As I mentioned before I travel a bit, so I decided that I needed a new daily wearer and the quick hour set was an amazing attraction with daily hops to Europe as part of my role. I badged it up as a 40th birthday present to myself to get the PO past the wife.
Have to say it is my most regular wearer. I've nicknamed it Thunderbird 2 as it is the go reference for me. I toyed with the LN but finally the novelty of the blue ceramic which is stunning in different lights and the blue hand sealed the deal.
The last (for now) is my SD4000. I'd long looked at getting a proper 'tool watch' that I could wear every minute of the day and not worry too much about scratches, my other items with PCLs are ruled out for that very reason.
I was between the Sub ND and SD4000 having rules out the SubC for looking to much like my BLNR (which in the end did not for the ND) and the Deepsea as being too big. Too be honest I was waiting to get the right price at Schiphol, and then big rumours started circling about being discontinued.
I know it is frowned on to look at these pieces as investment, but my general rule of thumb is if I can enjoy wearing them, service them and liquidate if I ever needed the cash then I get a damn sight better enjoyment return than the bank. So I took the plunge.
This one is a 2015 model. It's got some dinks and a slight scratch on the ceramic, so nothing for me to worry about wearing it. It's quite special, sits very high on your wrist and built like a tank.
At the price I paid (pre-Basel) I am sure will always get my money back and I am glad I've got a very special reference without having to pay the inflated prices they now command.

Great pics. Do you feel there is too much overlap between the BLNR and Exp2? I have a BLNR and am looking at adding a second Rolex. I like the Exp2 having a date, being a bit larger and not having anything polished on it but feel like I would be (almost) buying a different version of the same watch. I know you weren't asking me, but I do own both, albeit my EXP2 is polar. I find that there is no overlap. They do have similar functions, my understanding is that the movements are much the same apart from size, but they have totally different characters, if that makes sense at all. I keep the GMT on its bracelet but have tried the EXP on NATO, which I really like, and will put it on black leather for the winter.
I would say having both is a good plan.

Thanks chaps. I share the same thought as Robsmck. I had the EXII first and added the BLNR later but now awaiting for the LV next.
It wears and feels differently although it functions the same which I like as I am having to work with different time zones. Always liked the EXII as it doesn't shout Rolex when I'm out and about, a little more discreet in comparison. Wife prefers the EXII than the BLNR.
