I believe Arnold & Son are owned by Citizen.

In effect, yes, but originally a brand of La Joux Perret's creation.

I'm not an expert but I think we should include:

• U-Boat -
• Frederique Constant
• Graham - though may be excluded for the same reason as U-Boat
• SevenFriday
• Edox

Graham belongs to La Joux Perret.

Nope PD sold Eterna to International Volant Ltd, a subsidiary of China Haidan

Hardly worth quibbling over a minor point – still part of the CH group.



Also a point of clarification from another member's post, earlier – Glycine and Maurice LaCroix are owned by DKSH Holdings, who have plans to sell them off, along with their stake in the joint-venture with Davidoff watches.

Interesting read. Not sure how I feel about this. I realised that some companies fell under larger owners but it makes some of their claims of heritage seem disingenuous. How in house is something when the parent company can provide assistance and developments?

You need to up your googling game. They are literally the first search results when you google Timex and the name of those brands

That's my point - I was hoping to find a link that suggested that Timex owns Gevril (or vice versa but possibly unlikely).

Another one to add is that Stellux also appear to own Cyma.

The only thing I could find on the Gevril Group website is 'Gevril Group is the sole US and Caribbean agent for Ferragamo Timepieces'. (the same for the other brands mentioned), so my guess would be that they are some sort of distributors for the brands in the US and Caribbean and don't actually own them?

Sorry to be/sound negative...it's an interesting exercise. I'm one of those that hate to see members' contributions and a useful information source allowed to become outdated by the passage of time.

For me, the most significant independents are Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe, Nomos and Breitling.

Are Rolex really an "independent" (for the purposes of this list!) or are they just one of the two Wilsdorf brands, along with Tudor?

And if we're having independents on the list, could we include Christopher Ward?
