Thread: Question about PRS38 movement differences

    Question about PRS38 movement differences

So I happened up on the PRS38 today and absolutely love it. I wondered if anyone could please educate me over the differences between the ETA 2836-2 and the ETA 2830? A quick search turns up more info on the former than the latter. Is the 2836-2 a 25 jewel movement and the 2830 a 21 jewel?

Apologies if this is a simple question. I'm not particularly technically proficient when it comes to movements and tend to be driven more by aesthetics. I like the idea of getting one of the first 45, assuming one is still available, but thought I'd ask before I leap!

Thanks in advance for any nuggets of info!

I have one with the 2830 at the moment and it's 25 jewels.

I can't find much on the differences between these two movements - anything of significance? E.g. are they both hacking, both have same date change mech etc.?

You wouldn't really know any difference on the wrist.
