I'm sorely tempted. Want to go halves, Olli?
Did you watch Wheeler Dealer's Alpine? Lovely machine and stainless steel aside not hugely dissimilar in appearance to the DeLaurean.
WD had a custom US Holly carb fitted which improved matters a lot.
The one I had was a hoot, not at all sure what it was constructed from, just remember parking it in the centre of Sheffield near the town hall and being treat like a footy star....for 10 minutes I felt like Brian Joicey, or Pete Springett,,,,I never confessed that to either of them.
My nephew had a De Lorean which he hired out as a wedding car, it was very popular.
Eddie
Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".
Wheeler dealers also did a De Lorean episode.... https://youtu.be/ags5-_Wx0fw
Think i would have the Alpine GTA/A610
I read somewhere the other day that there is a prototype one for sale, originally it was supposed to have a Twin Turbo V6 in it rather than than gutless Isuzu lump it ended up with, the prototype has the former which transforms the way it drives apparently.
It's a PRV engine Peugeot Renault Volvo joint development don't think it's anything to do with Isuzu ?
Mine looked better than that!
Unfortunately we had some flux capacitor issues and it ended up in the water.
I have to carefully hide this post to my children, otherwise I'll have to buy one!
I used to own a Volvo 760 saloon with the same V6 Renault engine and an auto box - effortless 100mph+ cruising and was up to 150K with no problems whatsoever when I sold it.
Saw one in our local Sainsbury's car park two weeks ago....Michael J Fox didn't get out!
