Oh no! Not another Speedmaster incoming thread!

    I'm afraid so!

OK, old hat to old hands but still a big deal for some of us

    Mine arrived today

3150.50, 15 years old - full set. Straight off its bracelet and on to perlon though.

The reduced feels more to my taste and I am very pleased to have finally got one

Just that I would share that with you

It's been nice to observe your progression up the ladder via vostoks and seikos. I do hope you enjoy this one, it looks a cracker and a fine watch to wear. Hopefully you'll be sporting this one for years to come.

I'd say wear it in good health but a) this isn't WUS and b) then I'd have to shoot myself.

It's still old hat to young hands....but nevertheless, may it bring you much happiness over the short period of time you'll have it, before flipping it.

15 years old, is it? Doesn't look a day under 30!

    Short period?

I intend to keep it until the end of the month at the very least

Thanks for all the comments folks

Ive wanted a Speedmaster since I watched the first moon landing live on TV and looked at the pictures in the special edition of the paper the next day.

OK, its not a moonwatch but the Pro just feels too big for my taste, though I do realise that many folk with smaller wrists than me find it perfectly acceptable.

The reduced just seemed perfect size wise when I first tried one a while back. Its taken me a while to get one sorted.

Looks great and I would never have thought of putting mine on a perlon. May give one a try!

    Congrats.
Great watch even if a little undersized for my tastes.

Congrats on finally getting a Speedy on your wrist.

I reckon you could pull off a Professional 'moonwatch' as well though...

Ive tried cheaper more readily available ones and find them scratchy and insubstantial. This is genuine Eulit from eBay USA - Ive got quite a few and they excellent

Again, thanks for the feedback chaps - positive and not so, its all of interest and just goes to illustrate the point that it would be a boring old world if we all thought the same......

Anyway, I have a particular liking for it on this Hirsch Duke. So much so I might order a dark brown one as well.

Warning to "Speedmaster Fundamentalists" more photos follow - watch your blood pressure!

Got a Speedy Pro and a Reduced, have to admit the Reduced is one of those watches you can just keep on wearing, unobtrusive size and auto to boot. Tidy.

  25. #25
Looks just right on your wrist. I found the bigger moonwatch too big, so the reduced is a nice option.

Another fan of the Reduced here. I own a Pro but do plan to also pick up a Reduced at some point, I can't see any reason not to own both and they can be picked up at superb prices preowned.

Looks good on the Duke, enjoy it.

It wears really well on the Duke but I thought that I would try it on the bracelet for a while

Re-sizing the thing was a right b***er though and I bent one pin in the process of getting it back in - had to buy a few more

It certainly looks good on this original bracelet but it does wear bigger to my eyes - not sure, will see how I feel after a couple of days

I'm not a bracelet fan as I can't get them to fit right, but I does look great on the bracelet though.

I know what you mean Barry - they either feel too tight or too loose. To be fair the most expensive bracelet Ive fitted to date cost about £35 - this is of course better quality. Its the closest Ive got so far as regards fit and comfort so I think that I will give it a go for a while.

I prefer it on its bracelet, as i do my own Speedy.... but it's nice to mix it up now and again. I tend to wear it on bracelet in winter, and leather through the summer where I move between holes depending days/temperature.

Fightin' talk in this parish. But it's not their money ;). All watches "divide opinion", of course, there isn't a single watch that it's mandatory to like.
...but what do I know; I don't even like watches!
