    Junghans J30BZ cockpit cronograph

I had an interesting job on the bench today, a cockpit chronograph from the WWII era. It was in a bit of a state with parts missing, scratched plates and bruised screws but it turned out alright in the end.

The owner didn't send the chrono hands which is a pity as I'd like to have seen them running but I suppose I can't have everything!

You can read what was involved here.

Enjoyed seeing and reading about this one. I'm just wondering what the case size was?

Measured across the bezel it's 57.5mm diameter, the case is 61mm across measured through the line from 9 o'clock to 3'o'clock and from the top of the housing to the bottom of the chrono pusher is 76.2mm. The depth from glass to caseback is 29.5mm.

This is mine - model FL23885. This is from a Messerschmitt Bf 110 (Zerstörer) - a fabulous 'plane, but then almost all the Luftwaffe machines of the era were wonderfully charismatic.

There is a very good website for further insight on these borduhrs - http://www.cockpitclock.com/JUNGHANS.html
