Thread: Buying from cousins?

    Buying from cousins?

I was looking to buy a bezel from cousins but it asked that I register and confirm that I am a trade customer. Am I missing something or am I not able to buy from them?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Trade only.

Just register and you'll be OK.
    Cheers,
    Neil.

The point, I think, is that, by registering as a trade customer, you are giving up your rights under consumer protection law.

Rings true. On the occasions I've bought from them their after sales service has been poor...
    ...to say the least.

    Yep - another user here,

The £4 postage cost can be a killer for small, low cost items.
I try to buy loads of stuff at the same time when possible, otherwise it's cheaper on Ebay.

The only problem I have had from them was a quartz movement which was dead on arrival.
It turned out to be a duff battery.
But they point blank refused to do anything about it.

Customer service stops as soon as their untested products leave the warehouse.

The only practical supplier for some things, but as above, expect zero customer service.

I have not had any problems with them yet, but postage can be a bit steep

I found that they has mis-categorised some springbars saying they were for the moonwatch. They have two sets of bars on there, one for the moonwatch and the other the 'new' moonwatch..... brilliant. There was a picture for the 'new' moonwatch bars and they didn't have flanges so I knew it couldn't be that one so opted for the ones for the normal moonwatch. They arrived and they also did not have flanges so were only good for drilled lugs and were also only 20mm in total length so could never securely fit a moonwatch. Basically of the only two sets of bars that were for a moonwatch, neither of them could possibly be used for any (unless some of the very vintage models have 19mm drilled lugs which I doubt).

I contacted them and they said to return them which I did and got a refund, and ordered the correct bars which are listed as being for a Seamaster! I personally don't really like them, I find their website a bit shit and the fact that they can't manage their stock is poor. However you know what you're buying so you should be fine.

I had a question about buying from Cousins.
Before posting a new thread I searched the forum... and found my answer.
When it works, it works well.

Do I get a brownie for searching before posting??

You have rights as both a Consumer and business customer under basic contract law , it is not deemed a fair practice to waive your customers rights or have them remove them themselves Where is Cousins Pr man of mystery SteveDumb when you need him :-)
