I know it's only an Orient Mako XL....

...but the blue really looks great in the hard, punishing, relentless sunshine. :)

For a while I owned one of your watch's smaller cousins, the Blue Ray... so I entirely concur, the blue dials that Orient do are just so wonderfully good.

Also, I hadn't realized how Planet Oceaney the Mako XL bezel was till I saw this photo!

Hey ! Sort that bezel out lol! I am wearing the smaller cousin Blue Mako today whilst messing around in the garden, you capture the dial colour superbly.

I like my out of line bezel, makes me look busy.

How odd you mention the PO bezel Workahol, I only noticed it myself yesterday.

    Cracking value these Orient watches.

That looks great. Do the colours change depending on lighting?

Only in that you get varying depths of blue. In a multi point lighting situation there are several arcs across the dial. How Orient do this for £100 with a hefty bracelet and an in-house movement is beyond me!

Brilliant watch especially in the sunshine the dial really lives.

Lovely watch. Can't stand that NATO, or any other NATO for that matter though.

The girlfriend picked up a blue Mako Ray a couple of weeks back, seriously nice watch for the money. This is in addition to her green bezel XL. Amazing how they can knock out these for around £100.

They've just launched an update to the Mako range, currently only available in the US for now, but look pretty good and address most of the (minor) complaints of the original - (i.e. this now has sapphire crystal, solid endlinks, drilled lug holes, a 120-click bezel and new decent lume too : http://orientwatchusa.com/collection...diver/em6500gw

No idea if it'll be hitting our shores as I don't think we can buy from the orientwatchusa.com store, but I'm sure one of the EU suppliers (or Creation) will pick these up soon.

Picked up the Ray as a holiday watch recently. Great lume, 120 click bezel, solid bracelet (save the end links) - really impressed for the price.

The Mako's blue is one of the nicest there is, regardless of price. A fun watch for the summer sun.
