What dies the PCN actually state was the offence?
Perhaps they thought you'd stopped in the bus stop...?
I received this and with initial head scratching and then annoyance, what is the council doing? The PCN with photos clearly show a bus stop and a road which is single lane traffic in each direction and no bus lane.
Has anyone else received one?
I will have to write to the door handles at the council but what a waste of time which I'd rather spend on TZ!

The offence is Code 34: Being in a bus lane.
It is however, a bus stop as also confirmed by the words 'bus stop' painted on the road.
No details of location etc so can't comment?
They usually come with an image of the 'offence' - post it up with the location details?
Recessed bus stop or just a painted one?
Need street view.

Is there a picture you can post? Which council ?
What is PCN?
Unfortunately I do not have photobucket. This was on Innovation Drive, i54 Business Park.
Google maps shows a building site compared to today.
South Staffordshire Council issued the pcn.
Yes - there are 3 photos showing my car driving over/through the road painted bus stop sign.
I do not have photobucket. May need to sort this a post a wrist shot with the pcn!
Will look into the TRO thank you.
I GABC with ATFA
(I got a bit confused with all the flipping acronyms)
Could it be the road is only open to busses at certain times I got done like that in coventry ...
You don't need photo bucket to upload an image.
http://imgur.com/
Just click "upload image".
Just remember in case of legal bother, you can't delete an might image as there is no account needed, it just stays up as long as people are still viewing (which might be forever). PB accounts are free. Slightly more hassle, but not much. I'd be very wary of posting anything with possible identifying information in it to imgur, just in case.
Forget the images and members going off track: -
OP, here is the result of a quick search on google and unless you were driving a bus, were a cyclist a pedestrian of others mentioned from section 8 onward, then you are f#%ked.

Another way of the local councils raking in cash.

As can be seen from point 31 of the Delegated Decision Form: -
31 - By use of the required signs and road markings, the aim is to ensure that only permitted vehicles use the bus lane.
This has been thought about and I should imagine been implemented, if not the OP has the right to appeal and the fine and any others issued illegally will/should be quashed.
However what do you suppose the chances are?
Regards.
Keith.
Well I grant you it doesn't look good for the OP. However councils especially highways divisions tend to ball up the simplest of matters. So he should still check the signage is compliant. However being that it's been in place for quite a while, chances are slim.
Thank you all for the advice and links. The signage certainly could be better and will make an appeal from this perspective. Whether this will work I dont know but will post an update in due course.
Similar set up in the town I work in as a taxi driver. Normal cars, vans etc have to turn left off the main road through town and only buses, taxis and cycles can go straight on. The sign posts are a bit poor though, there is no 'no entry except for......' Signs, just a sign telling traffic to turn left. Loads of cars make the mistake of going straight on. I have no idea wether they are prosecuted or not though.
I'd say go and have a look at the signs on and around the road you were caught on.....
If it's just a matter of you missing the signs then you're stuffed
If the signs aren't present or are unclear then maybe you could appeal!
